Really? In theory, I think it's a good idea. The ones here have a reasonable turnover of books, but I am yet to see one I consider worth reading though

When I was a teenager, South Yorkshire Transport, who ran public transport in Sheffield then, announced they were going to start playing music on the top-deck of the bus, which I remember thinking sounded like a great idea. Of course, what they actually played was the worst type of Lift Muzak, interspersed with adverts. Since they weren't very good at advertising, most of the 'jingles' were for South Yorkshire Transport themselves (even today I can still hear some of them playing in my head)!

The tape was on a 15 minute loop, and so on longer bus journeys, you'd be forced to listen to them all more than once. Apart from the top-deck, they also played in the bus-drivers cab, and the drivers got so sick of them, they started sabotaging the machines! It was still about 10 years before they abandoned the experiment
