It is one of your best, Jack - very worthy to be used!
Good looking pasta, i do love a plate of good cheese, olives with some pickled onions.Olives are a staple of my diet. First off, I like a Martini. If a bartender is inclined to stuff a couple of big ones with Gorgonzola, I will probably let her go ahead and do that. I use them in cooking, too, as important as potatoes, onions, peppers and artichoke hearts. Sometimes I will crisp up a can of olives in a frying pan with a roughly equivalent amount of garlic cloves, to make a pretty compelling finger food.
As a matter of course, I will dump a can into a pasta sauce, a salad or a pan of sauteed vegetables.
I know a woman who makes an incredible lamb and olive stew. She also keeps a bottle of Citadelle in her freezer. I should probably see if I can’t wangle a dinner invitation.
I don’t know how anybody can complain about the taste, when they all taste so different depending on how they are brined, and on what they are served with.

Some idiot last week in our local council came up with the brainwave to ban wood and coal bbq's and any sort of fire pit or brick oven. One person had complained about the smell, i give you one guess how this went down with the rest of the rate payers. Another brainwave idea in the bin. Hope your back is holding up ok.I finished off the fire-pit I was building

Good job, it is a skill of it's self to be able to do this, and Chin is a master at it, you have been a very good pupil..
Great to see you here Greg, fascinating postI like convex edges, though I have more FBs with them than pocket knives. You did a great job straightening that Lambsfoot blade out again, and the final convexed blade looks amazing. Well done, and thanks for sharing it with us

I guess my age is showing!!Thanks a lot Charlie, been a while since I last saw this oneHey, when I was posting before, I was thinking about the word 'movie', that must be pretty old I guess, maybe from the age of silent cinema, before the 'talkies' came along
Hope you're having a good day my friend

Anything that could be construed as "for the silver screen" is a "movie" in my lexicon!!![]()

What do you mean "American accent"? It's the English that have the accent! Not at all Charlie, I think it's the most commonly used wordI was thinking more of its etymology though
When my parents were young, the cinema here was still commonly referred to as 'The Flicks', which I guess is also a pretty old term. Easy to forget how relatively recent 'moving pictures', and particularly the 'talkies' are. I've heard it said that prior to the latter, few English people had ever heard an American accent. Of course the very first movie was made only about a mile from where I live

I called them the flicks when i was a kid, i must be older than in think.cinema here was still commonly referred to as 'The Flicks',
Thanks, Jack! Many of my favorite small whittling blades have convex edges and recently I've picked up a couple of FBs that have them, too. I thought it'd be worth putting one on one of my frequently carried lambsfoot knives and the comparing how it performs and holds up to my others. We'll see. If nothing else, it motivated me to fix that recurve situation.
...
So true! Now if you ladies and gentlemen will please excuse me, there's some cardboard waiting to be broken down for tomorrow's recycling pick up...![]()
