That is one of the problems with reading old posts. Every nugget of information is worth having but sometimes the people that posted it aren't available to go into further detail. The other annoying problem is that some of the pictures posted years ago are no longer viewable for whatever reason. I particularly liked his idea of a fixed blade lamb foot and his finished knife was stellar.
Any particular oil? Please be patient, I'm new at this but I promise to get up to speed. Thank you.
Hopefully, if you read on, others may have asked similar questions, but this is a longstanding thread now. Don't forget to check the index, which may be helpful
It's a great shame about missing photos, this is largely because Photobucket chose to change its service agreement a few years back, and the same has happened with other image-hosting sites. Many members here went to the trouble of re-posting their photos. If you come across posts of my own with missing pics, please let me know, and I'll make every effort to replace them
@Cambertree 's 'Lambshank' was impressive
I generally use food-grade mineral oil for my Lambsfoot knives, as I sometimes use them in the kitchen, for eating fruit, etc
I was
very sorry to see the end of my Christmas cake. As I was equally very sorry today to see the last mince pie and last Christmas beer...
I'm not to heart broken though as there's a ton of Christmas chocolate I've not even touched yet.
Btw Jack, that letter you were gifted, what was
High Speed Steel?
I bet you were David, that Christmas cake seems to have sustained and nourished you through the last fortnight

And the last mince pie and Christmas ale

Hope you enjoy them mate
Have you not heard of it David? I'm sure you've probably used some at some point

I guess it’s good they had a plate.
I haven’t had cheese on toast (we always just called it “cheese toast”) in a long time, mostly because it was always something we made in the toaster oven, and we no longer have a toaster oven. Might have to turn on the actual oven and give it a go.

(I’ve still got some Henderson’s I can try with it, too!)
Yes indeed!
I guess that's the efficient and economical US use of English, compared to the more flowery British version!

I've made it in the oven in the past Barrett

I also have a sandwich-maker somewhere, but I always forget about that!
I’ve mixed up the day of the week more than once this past year. A day early’s better than a day late for putting out the bin!

We have trash pickup once a week, but the recycling is only picked up every other week. Today’s our first recycling pickup since Christmas, and it’s overflowing!
True!

It's exactly the same with the collections here my friend, though the same isn't true of every English town. I managed to catch them last Thursday, which was New Year's Eve, but my neighbour's on either side missed them, and have overflowing bins (since mine is half-empty, I've told them to use mine)
I’ve been a bit lazy about my knife organization lately, and have taken to leaving knives scattered about on top of my knife cabinet, and my small work bench nearby, and some on the desk in the other room. I finally started putting them away today, and reorganizing some of the drawers.
Anyways, one thing I realized as I started putting things away was that
all of my Lambsfoot knives were out for one reason or another. As I was putting them away, I was also realized that I’ve almost run out of room in my Lambsfoot drawer. If I get any more, they’ll have to get cozier, or overflow into another drawer.
(I actually thought I had a couple more than this, but if I do, I can’t think of what they are. There is my Waynorth Lambsfoot, but that one is in a GEC drawer.)
Guilty!

At least there isn't a huge pile on my kitchen table, as in the past, but I currently have six on my desk, five on my coffee table, two on my kitchen counter, and a dozen more lounging on bookshelves in my bedroom

Wow Barrett, that is quite a collection, and a great pic I think, really shows them off well
Kick sledding through the frozen forest along my trusty ebony lamb “side kick”
That looks like great fun Dan

Are we allowed to say the 'S' word yet?

That was a precursor to High Speed Low Drag Steel, a subject beyond the scope of this thread, indeed, this subforum.
Happy New Year Henry, hope you're doing well
Looking good Taylor
Non-alcoholic cocktail
You having a dry January my friend? I need to hunt down my Rosewood Hartshead Barlow and give it some pocket-time
I see a number of knives with the "REAL LAMB FOOT" etched on the blade, can someone please tell me what manufacturer made/ makes them and how does one go about purchasing one?
Jack Black
, you mentioned in a post from 2017 that you'd stay clear of many UK dealers. As someone halfway across the world from you, the place where GEC and Case rule the land, I am looking at UK shops to assuage my lamb foot cravings. Are there any shops that would get your nod of approval ?

your enthusiasm is awesome
We try to avoid the discussion of purchasing knives in this thread, and instead focus on the knives themselves. For more details on the purchasing, I'd recommend taking it to a PM.
Thank you, I'll keep that in mind.
Thanks Mike

I think you'd benefit from reading
this in full

The 'Real Lamb Foot' (along with a few other slight variations) is very traditional on Lambsfoot knives, and in the past, it was used by a great many manufacturers. Here it's being applied to the 2017 Guardians Lambsfoot knives
Good morning Guardians, I'm hoping I've got the day right today at least

Have a good one
