Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I'm afraid I've no idea mate, I don't even know exactly where the photo was taken
Apparently, the photo was taken near Ingleborough, but they just took it through the car windscreen
Happy Halloween, Guardians! 🎃

That's kind of scary Mike! :D Great pic

That's a shame Jer, nice photo though. I've only had trick or treaters once in the 20 years I've lived here, so I've given up buying Halloween candy :( It really isn't such a big thing here though. When I was a kid we had apple-bobbing, and turnip lanterns! :D November 5th - Bonfire Night - was always much bigger here, but less so today I think, you no longer see packs of kids gathering scrap wood for their bonfires, or building 'guys' :(
I don't really mind not putting the three hours in. I donated some candy, and tested it first, and got a few leftover bits this morning, I'll have my lights low tonight because I don't have any candy in the house.
Definitely not buying any Brach's creme pumpkins on sale tomorrow. Nor candy corn neither. Nope.

Too bad about the fading of the Guy.

Yeah, sad about the loss of Penny for the Guy, though there was a time in the 80's, when I'd see young children out in Sheffield city centre, collecting when the pubs were kicking out, when I didn't wonder what kind of parents would see their kids out begging from drunks, long after they should have been tucked up in bed! 😠 That's an excellent pic Jer  :)

The days of post-holiday-discount-candy are over, I'm afraid. I went to pick up some Halloween candy on Thursday, and the store was already packing it up and putting out the Christmas candy!🤬

Lucy looks dangerous tonight!

Project update. I don't want to disturb the project so won't show any pictorial updates, but appears to have lightened some more over the last week. But is a bit hard to tell with it sitting in solution, which is still active, so will leave it for another one to two weeks, this is a rehash from last Monday.

Used to be huge here, then the people in charge made it illegal.:thumbsdown:🤬. This is a photo from the local paper from where my family came from of kids stocking up on crackers.

That's a shame mate, I was reading about it online :( I'm surprised they haven't banned it here  We used to have a member here, who worked in the old Standard/Black Cat fireworks factory in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Happier times on 'Cracker Night'

That's a shame Rachel, another tradition lost :(

Thanks for the update Leon
Had a late lunch earlier today while watching the Red Zone. Royal Hawaiian Sliders with a splash of the Relish on each. Yes, it does become addictive 😋.

I used to know folks in Sheffield who got through a bottle a week! :D

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone had a great weekend. No trick or treaters braved the heavy rain to come a knocking on the door of Grumble Towers, but a few spirits visited from Islay ;) The weather is pretty miserable again here today, but I have a couple of places to go. Got my Hartshead Barlow in my pocket ;) Have a good week Guardians

I discovered an interesting fact about the Boy's Own publication, which I used as a background for several photos a couple of weeks ago. The illustrator, and designer of the Boy's Own mast-head was none other than mountaineer and explorer Edward Whymper

Great photo, at least i had plenty of fun and happy nights before cracker night was banned here, for that i am grateful.:)
Yeah mate, when I was a kid, virtually house had a bonfire, and let off fireworks. I happily remember the time my dad was chased round the back-yard by a 'Jumping Jack' while we all tried not to laugh too loud! :D

He was definitely not one to wimper! :D The first article I ever got paid for writing was a review of that book Jer :) Old Toffee Wings is looking good my friend
No kidding!
I have to admit, I seldom remove my hubcaps to check for the sort of thing I don't like to mention directly lest it distract our minders from those who need watching.
I'm saving the last piece for lunch, because I am a diabetic, after all.
