I have not had even close to the time I'd like lately to read or post. I'm hoping to change that over the Christmas holiday. Thank you Chin and Jack for some extremely educational and interesting posts recently. The Lambsfoot thread is truly a great one that I really enjoy when I have the time to catch up. To all who are regulars or those just stoping by, thank you for all your contributions. :thumbup:

Christmas came early for me this year! My new custom lambsfoot made by Michael May. This knife really is a work of art!

What kind of gemstone is that, he used for those inlays? And what steel did you specify for those blades?
A really nice, heirloom quality piece right there. Looks like she'd be a great, hand-filling worker too, if you were so inclined...

Thanks! I'm VERY pleased with this knife. The inlays are turquoise. As for the blades, I requested a lambsfoot and a secondary pen blade. He had never made this knife with two blades before; that's why I consider it at least semi-custom. The buffalo horn is a beautiful mirror polished pure black. I may carry it from time to time, but I don't want to mar that beautiful finish in any way. The walk and talk are superb.
I may just order another knife from Michael in the new year.

Lovely knife and nice to see it in a two blade variation. Not as common, but Lambsfoot models were offered with two blades by many of the old Sheffield cutlers.

Absolutely! The steel is 420HC (as per my request for stainless). The fit and finish are absolutely perfect. The handles are a flawless mirror polish, the blades are dead centered, the pull is about a 7. I can find no flaws in this knife. It's got me thinking that I would like to order another knife of Michael's.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I'm so excited to be holding this beautiful Lambfoot. Handle ergonomics are very nice in the little time I've spent fondling it, and the blade is actually a big larger than I expected; it is a knife that commands attention. I can't wait to spend some time with it and develop a rapport with it. Thanks, again, Mike!

There is something about horn handles that, attractive in their own right, also makes them seem ideal for a Lambsfoot knife! Whether with exceptional detail like Jack's above, or subtle like Shawn's, it is very pleasing to see this natural material on the knives. Maybe it is the connection to animal husbandry that both the knife and the handle material have, that makes them so correct!
This knife was in the mailbox with a nice Barlow (see the Barlow thread!)
No horn handles - probably Coca - but it's got everything else!

Fantastic Charlie, that's a very nice knife, and I love the blade etch. It's in great shape too
In some ways, the handle minded me of the Arnold Wragg knife below, which I sent to PMEW. Yet, there's a good few decades between them.

Yes, I agree! I like the compliment of stamps that JR uses!
The G crown R could be 1910 to 1936, but is most likely 1936 to 1952.
(King George V or King George VI). The knife is unused!
