That looks tasty Gary!

...
My first stop in town was the post office, where I went to renew my passport, (which now costs nearly £100 ($134)).
...
By this point it was 11.30am, and I was ready for some pancakes, ... Fifteen minutes later, he returned to tell me that they had run out of pancake batter!!!! ...
Far from happy, I left, and walked to a local creperie, which I used to eat at regularly. I haven't been here for a while, and what a disappointment. ...
Jack, I love blueberries and maple syrup on pancakes, but IMHO it's not a great combo for a stout flavor!

Sorry to hear about all your passport and pancake problems!

IIRC, you had similar pancake/crepe disappointments on a previous Pancake Day outing.
...
Pacski Day. Yay!
Alluring knife and pastry, Harvey!

In my city, I never hear about Pancake Day, but they have annual Fat Tuesday stories about paczki on the local news, apparently because of a sizable part of the population with Polish heritage. I've never tried one (getting paczki on Fat Tuesday reminds me of a GEC drop).
...
If you need to know how to make ‘em look like Mickey Mouse, just let me know.

...
Do these pancakes count?

Cool pancake post, Barrett!

I probably haven't made pancakes since my daughter became a teenager about 20 years ago! I'm sure my pancake artistic skills have eroded substantially since then!
I did it!

They taste much better than they look.

They look pretty good to me, John; congrats on your first attempt!

I never think about sausages with pancakes, but it looks like a great idea; I'd include some baked beans, too (maybe even ON the pancakes)!

Rockin' A, that's a handsome lamb you have there, John!

Well, no pancakes here yesterday or today, but Skoll doesn't seem to mind.
That old Sun Dog is looking great, Jeremy!

Black Jack is looking elegant.
BTW... I hate when they use theorem numbers instead of names... harder to remember them all that way.
I agree with you on the theorem names/numbers, John; I'd vote for using both.

One nice thing about numbering the theorems is that you can see the deductive structure, and you know it's not kosher to use Theorem 5 to prove Theorem 2.
Actually, numbering theorems reminds me of knife makers having meaningless numbers for their patterns, instead of using names. One of my favorite knives is a Case muskrat, simply because they stamp the actual pattern name on the tang.

Looks like you’re off to Sunny times.
Good Morning Guardians
Here’s to a lttle sunshine for all
I'm a sucker for songs about sunshine (and there are a lot of them)!

Good morning, Guardians! We're having some Italian roast decaf from World Market this morning. Have a good Thursday!
My Guardian contribution today!
Lots of dignified ebony lambsfoot knives showing up recently!

Thank you very much Gary

That's actually Stephenson's original '
Rocket' from 1829

I like dining cars on trains, but I've never been in one anywhere near as fancy as that

That's funny!

No, we didn't use the word 'dining' in my family either!

The trains I went on as a kid were very old-fashioned, compared to today, but far more interesting, and pleasant to travel on, I think (there were still steam trains running here, on main lines, until the 1980's). I have travelled all over Europe, on trains, many times, and enjoy travelling that way
Thanks again my friend, that's a stunning photo of your 2018 Guardians SFO

...
Thanks for the train info, Jack, and for the good word on my Black Jack pic.
One of my New Year’s resolutions was to carry a Lamb every day in 2022. Well when I arrived at work and went to get it from my pack, I realized it wasn’t there! So my question is, have I failed my resolution or does drinking my evening beer with it in my pocket constitute a restoration of my commitment?

IMHO, if you're carrying a lambsfoot at any time during the 24 hours of a given day, you've carried a lambsfoot that day!
