Yes mate, a lot of the times it's the " LAMS " , look at me syndrome. People now just love to be seen in some establishments, usually over priced expensive ones.

That's a fact Leon, I like good coffee, but I don't want to share air-space with many of the posers who frequent the fancy places in the city centre here, or listen to them braying. I hate all the drama of just getting a cup of coffee too, you'd think they were curing cancer. I went in a place on the way to the train station the other day, and there were 6 customers, and 12 staff, two of whom were required to seat us, and take our order, which when they first opened you just used to give at the counter. We were waiting so long for the coffee, we were on the verge of walking out. It cost a small fortune, and they wouldn't take cash! Never again! The cafe down my road is run by a friendly Sicilian-Moroccan family, the coffee is consistently good, fairly priced, and they have a nice bunch of regulars

Jack Black yea the snake wood has darkened some. In the light it is still very beautiful wood with amazing grain.

LOL! Working-men's clubs used to be a big phenomenon here. My grandfather was involved in setting one up in the 30's. It was practically an extension of my grandparents tiny house, and he and several of my uncles spent most of their evenings there. I was enrolled at 18, but it was a long way from where I actually lived, and I was overseas a lot during the next few years anyway. I only went for a drink there once before it closed, sadly

Yessir!! I am brand new around these parts, but look forward to spending some time on the porch and getting to know some new people and make new friends . Along with learning more about the cutlery I’m interested in

Didn’t get many pics of the lambfoot , dividing my time between a 13 year old and 2 year old at a water park! But I’m about to enjoy a cup of hotel coffee! Hotel coffee is better than no coffee !

It cost a small fortune, and they wouldn't take cash! Never again! The cafe down my road is run by a friendly Sicilian-Moroccan family, the coffee is consistently good, fairly priced, and they have a nice bunch of regulars

I had an issue last week, a business would not take my cash, when i pointed out that cash is legal tender, and by law they are required to take it. They wanted to point out there rights, when i showed the lettering on the cash saying it was legal tender, they got the hump. I got great pleasure in telling them where they could ram their business. I have a fresh fruit and vegetable shop near me run by a lovely Italian family, they opened a coffee bar just before Covid hit, one quid for a beautiful coffee, take-away only, but there are a couple of benches out the front of the shop. The place over the road charges three quid for a rubbish coffee, and you can't get a seat out the front, full of poseurs. They must think that the more you pay the better the coffee, they would not lower themselves to buy a coffee at the Italians over the road. " Tossers ".

Good morning Guardians. Back home from our little jaunt to Raleigh. Sunny out this morning but a cool 48 degrees F. Storms came through yesterday on the cold front. Golfing today at Oak Island. Going with my trusty one. in the pocket today.

Good morning Guardians! A little cool here this morning , didn’t keep me from sneaking out while everyone else slept and getting a decent cup of coffee! Though the hotel coffee was better than nothing it left a lot to be desired !!

This place is right next to a large amusement park , kind of eerie seeing a place that is usually jam packed with people completely empty !!

That seems to be getting more and more common everywhere Leon Here there are now more cafes and bars that are "card only" than taking cash! I have had to resort to some Anglo Saxon myself on one or two occasions It sounds like you've got a good place there my friend I had a glass of freshly-squeezed orange juice, a large fried breakfast, and a great coffee for under a tenner at my local cafe, on my way into town this morning. There's plenty of places in Leeds where you can't get 2 pints for that these days!
