I just remembered a tale someone told me about Pontefract. This feller was a vegetarian as a teenager, and went into a Pontefract pub, with his dad, for something to eat. Not seeing anything that fitted with his diet, he asked the barman, "Do you not have anything vegetarian?" The barman said that he would ask the chef. Shortly after, a huge man, in chef's clothes, came out of the kitchen, and physically threw him out of the pub!I asked the feller who told me the tale, what his father had said. He told me, "He thought it was hilarious!"
Congratulations John, what a haul!I'd forgotten! That explains the huge line outside the 'Forbidden Planet' when I was heading into town yesterday!

Good morning Guardians. Kind of cloudy and cooler since the cold front came through last night. We need rain badly and did not get it. Going to be busy getting the house ready for our cocktail party - having about 20 people over for good fellowship.

That sounds like a nigh enough Sunday John, have fun with Bluey
Sounds like Spring is coming late there!Top o' the mornin, Guardians. Cool and wet here today, with a possibility of snow later. Going to try and get some yardwork done before it gets too nasty. The Better Half is headed to Utah for a few days of teaching, so I guess tonight's agenda will involve pizza, beer and a good Western...

Yay! Bonus!Just found out that my wife wants to go to the bakery, so things got even better.![]()
Indeed, Jack. It's been a weird Spring so far, but we need the water, so I'm not going to complain too much. I live in a place where our entire water supply is dependent on snowpack, and we are at the headwaters, so there is no reservoir upstream from us. What comes down from the mountains is what we have to work with. But despite all that I'm ready for warm sunshine, and being outside in a t-shirt!Sounds like Spring is coming late there!
I'm looking forward to it. I might even let the old dog choose tonight's movie - he likes Westerns.I like your evening agenda![]()
It's a good thing I was sitting down for this one, Dwight. Those spalted scales are amazing.
