Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I'm glad there is some Christmas spirit in the air Jack. Glad you are finding some peace and " cheer" 🍻 on your vacation.

May the feelings of this Christmas last all year for the entire porch community.View attachment 2026182
Thanks Bob, that's a fantastic photo πŸ™‚ Here's Wee Staggy out on my balcony πŸ‘

I just heard news of the serious storm disruption in the US and Canada 😳 I sincerely hope everyone is ok πŸ‘πŸ‘

Jack, I'd love to see that lighthouse. Is it accessible?
It's one of two Duane, the other being right at the southern tip of the Jandia Peninsula. I saw that one from the boat the other day, but at a distance. The first one is about a mile away from my hotel, maybe less. It's accessible, but you can't go up it. I've taken a bunch of photos of. If you're interested in lighthouses, you should check out Bella Bathhurst's books πŸ™‚πŸ‘

One time while visiting the outer banks of NC, I was with my uncle, who had me driving at 14 years old. We climbed a lighthouse that had hundreds of steps to get to the top. He had a pretty hard time of it being on in years at the time. The view was well worth the climb though. While in the Coast Guard my ship helped restore a couple lighthouses, I remember hanging from a boatswain's chair from ropes way above the ground sand blasting, and then painting the structure while dangling above the rocks beneath. Although it was hard work, it was very enjoyable at the time...

That sounds fascinating Duane 😎 A real bit of history too πŸ™‚ I have been up a few English ones when I was a kid, they weren't automated then, and the steps weren't a problem for me back then either! πŸ˜πŸ‘

Just starting a new book while Gaggia machine heats up. There are self-service coffee machines all over the hotel, but only a couple of good ones πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

Keepwarm Bob! πŸ₯Ά Cool Christmas pic πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Yes, it's a very long time since I've walked on soft sand, and I've never walked for 5 miles in it, followed by another couple of miles, with a couple of very steep ascents and descents. I hadn't planned it, but I find it hard to stop sometimes, and the scenery was beautiful. I was limping very heavily yesterday, so hopefully some rest will be beneficial πŸ‘
Merry Christmas Jack. I hope you are resting and in general taking it easy my friend.

Merry Christmas Guardians. Cold day today but no snow here in coastal southern NC. Getting ready for my kids to show up this morning. I'm getting the Mimosas ready along with a spiral cut ham, home made sausage, pancakes, etc, etc. My daughter flew into Myrtle Beach yesterday (along with the boyfriend) from the west coast and stayed with his parents and they all are driving here this morning. My son's flight got cancelled so his plans for travel have been modified. He will get here sooner or later. It'll be a fun time and I'm looking forward to it.
