Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Hope you loosen up over the course of the day Bill :) Your Hartshead Barlow looks good, as always :)

Nice to see old Toffee Wings Jer, what's on the turntable? :)

Thanks much Jack. It just seems like now when ever I do anything physical I pay the price. I used to take Ibuprofen for aches and pains but since I've been taking blood thinners I must stay away from NSAID drugs. Tylenol just doesn't cut it so I just stitch and hope for the best. Maybe I need to find me a good Swedish massage?☺️ I have a charity golf outing tomorrow so I'll need to be in good form.

Somebody at church has been advised to take turmeric for pain.
Unfortunately, turmeric tastes like dirt. That's probably why they can sell it as supplements.

Son of a Preacher Man!
Not really.
That turntable doesn't work, and there's nothing on it. I have to get rid of that, and maybe the tea-cart it's sitting on, and bring up the big one from the basement.

Thanks!

I thought there was a record on it, but I've given my eyes a rub now! 😁 It's years since I had any vinyl I'm afraid ☹️👍

I know the feeling Bill, if I'm doing anything even mildly strenuous, I have to plan in advance, as I'm sure to ache, or worse the next day. Good luck tomorrow buddy 👍

My neighbour advised me to take it during 2020, when I was suffering with tennis elbow. It's something you need to take everyday. I found it quite good, and you can buy good quality turmeric in capsule or tablet form to avoid the dirt taste! 😁 I've been meaning to buy some more. Cool pic Jer 👍

Crazy day at work. Forrest fire on base. Smoking and drinking to decompress 😆 🤣 😂. I will catch up in a bit.

I hope they were able to get it under control. The winds were howling here yesterday and a high temperature of 97° made for an extreme fire danger.

Thanks Steve, that's quite a change in the weather, great pic my friend :)

Interesting info  A shame we can't add it to the Guardians Thread Index :( My stoutest Lambsfoot is the Needham, gifted to me by @Campbellclanman I have a photo comparison somewhere, but am struggling to find it, so I'll try and take another later

My I*XL is the stoutest I have measuring 3.14mm at the tang

Good morning Guardians, I had a pub crawl with my mate last night, and we were out until the early hours, but it made for a LONG day, as I had been up since 4am, with an 8 hour stint at the market. I had a nice time with my pal, but I could have done with having a hot bath, and some sofa time! I finally have my dental appointment today, so I'm hoping they do more than on my previous 3 visits. To be fair, the dentist has been very helpful, it's the gate-keepers that have caused the problems  My appointment isn't until early afternoon, but I have quite a few things to do this morning. I hope everyone has had a good week, and that you're all looking forward to the weekend :) Carrying my Hartshead Barlow ;) Have a good day Guardians

Best of luck getting your tooth sorted 👍 and nice pic of your HH !

It's years since I had any vinyl I'm afraid ☹️👍
I brought the stereo out two Christmases ago, and was disappointed not to be able to play my old Christmasa records. Last Christmas I found a couple of Christmas cassettes, and I think I came across some Christmas CDs recently. To play songs of my youth, I have to be in a non-melancholy mood. Especially now that I'm not drinking.
I never thought I'd live to see CDs becoming extinct. They're Star Trek stuff, for heaven's sake.

I should try it.

Very interesting Steve, that's fairly stout 👍

Thanks Steve, my dentist certainly made up for lost time, she replaced the crown that had come out, filled another tooth, reduced another, where I'm having a new crown fitted, and took the mould for the crown. All in about 20 minutes. I declined pain relief, so I have gone for Thai 😉😋👍
The azaleas are still blooming...

Lovely photo, the azaleas really show off your Lambsfoot 😎👍

Yeah, true Jer, but remember when 8-track cartridges were Star Trek?! 😁👍
I should try it.

You'll probably need to take it for at least a couple of weeks before you notice any benefit. Kirkland do it in tablet form, (got mine from Costco), with black pepper added 👍

Not subtle at all! 🤣 That burl reminded me a bit of your spalted covers with the green in them. Nice photo of your HHB!
I thought of my burl lamb too. Thanks Barrett.
Your lamb is full of character Dwight. Nice pic
Thank you Bob.
Thanks Dwight, cool Barlow pic
Thanks Jack.
The stock on my old ones varies, but 3mm is definitely on the thick side

That food looks absolutely delicious Daniel 😋 Nice-looking beers too, and a fine Lambsfoot :)

Nice spot Bill, hope you're having a lovely day :)

Great to see you here Kevin :) Cool Pic

Beautiful pic Bob :) That's quite a contrast to here, where it's been cold, wet, and very windy

Hope everyone is having a good day :) I was awake at 6am, and down the market at 7am today. The weather has been dreadful, but I put in 8 hours, and Tight-Fisted Tool Man did well again. The weather didn't seem to stop folks shopping in the market, and on occasion, there were more people stood chatting behind the stall, than browsing Tool Man's wares. On the way home, I remembered I am going out for a drink with my mate Matt tonight, so I better go and get cleaned up, and hopefully I can catch 40 winks, as I'm exhausted! 😴

Ex-Para Steve brought these over to shows us. Apparently, during WW2 the Soviet Army were short of skilled blacksmiths to shoe the horses of cavalry regiments, so they used screw-on shoes, and this is a set of tools for them

Great pics of the market guys Jack.👍 Sounds like you had a full day (and evening).

Bill maybe you should consider installing a hot tub. I've been seriously considering it myself.

Wow! 97???
. I declined pain relief, so I have gone for Thai
And why did you decline pain relief?

Very interesting Steve, that's fairly stout 👍
The blade itself is thin behind the edge and is 2.75 in front of the tang and .77 at the tip.

In this case I didn't think it was worth bothering with, I'd rather put up with a few minutes of pain, than have my face feel like cotton-wool for an hour, or risk being ODed on pain relief, which happened to me once before. I'm not bad with short-term pain, I declined pain-relief when I broke my leg 20 years ago. The nagging pain of sciatica is different though 👍

Thanks for the info Steve, I'll have to get my calipers out! 😁🙂👍
Happy to hear that !
Thanks buddy 🙂👍

I had a nice afternoon, but was glad to get in out of the rain 🙂

I enjoyed my Thai meal, and it'll save me having to cook at home 🙂👍

I forgot to post a pic of Tool Man's latest rotten tattoo, (which at least matches all his others in that respect! 🤣). It's a winged wheel, specifically a winged railway wheel, a symbol used on his Russian railway man's style watch 😁 Right on the back of his fat Gregory Peck! 🤣
IMG_20230413_085516_HDR.jpg
I should have talked him into having a winged grinding wheel! 🤣👍

Sounds like you've earned a rest Paul! I love the colours you get on those polished blades when they see some use :)
Things have settled down now a little. The patina on polished blades is very nice. Very nice photo of the HHB ny friend.
Good morning Guardians. Woke up this morning a little sore and stiff. I guess I must have gotten a little twisted whilst asleep. Getting older doesn't help either. Golfed yesterday and it was very slow play. Really irritated me but it was a beautiful day so I should have just relaxed and enjoyed the stroll around the links. Hope everyone will have a nice weekend. HHB with me again.

Have a great weekend all.
