Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

My wife got a couple free tickets from a coworker for the Ed Sheeran concert here tonight, and since that wasn’t something in which I had any particular interest, she took Eleanor with her. This was Eleanor’s first concert, and the tickets were general admission/standing room tickets, which gave us some concern, but it sounds like they had a great time. (It’s just after 11pm and they’re on their way home now).

Scout and I went and got the truck washed, grabbed dinner and went to the liquor store. Then we came home and watched a movie before I put her to bed.

I generally try not to buy beer based on the name/label alone, but I couldn’t resist this one. It’s not bad, very citrusy. The 4-pack was a bit pricey, but at least it’s 7.9% ABV. Couple more of these and I’ll be craving a Royale with Cheese. 😎

Those covers are out of control! Like a rolling fire. Gorgeous!

I wasn't very clear Jack. I don't understand the meaning of the "costumes" the two were wearing. I assume they are making some kind of a statement?
Sorry Dwight, I was walking through one of the newer shopping precincts here, and spotted some folks dressed up as Star Wars characters (Princess Leah is looking rough these days! :D). During the school holidays, they do things like that, to get families in, so the kids can get their photos taken. The folks dressed-up looked pretty bored, probably on minimum wage I imagine. I snapped a pic for JohnDF JohnDF as I went past, but it didn't come out too well. As I was coming back the other way, I saw two of them wander off, and go to look in one of the shops, so I thought I'd take another pic ;)
Thank you my friend, lovely photo there  :)
What a great story. You have a gift, Jack!
Thanks a lot Vince :)
I got my GAW knife today and wow! What a nice little knife! Right into my pocket along with my hhb! THANK YOU Rufus1949 Rufus1949 also do you know what the handle material is? View attachment 2284690
That's a nice one Kevin, congratulations :)
Thanks for Telling us the story Jack. Those are my kind of heros. 🤠
Thank you David, mine too :)
Thank you Jack for sharing this excellent tale.
Thanks Pete :)
Good day in the McD household. More cleanup from a big storm. Sam did tractor duty today. Then gave the kids a treat with a hike to a waterfall. So much fun to get under the falls and explore.

Bobcote Lamb along for the ride.

Nice to see that Steve, it looks even better than the mark side  I'm guessing the customer is supplying the stag
You got some nice stag on that one. Was it re-handled or came that way? My stag lambsfoot is not so attractive. I did a little experiment and tried to add a little color to it with a torch, not sure I improved it any.

I think it looks OK, and a lot better than some of the stag I have seen on knives that have left the Wright factory :)
It came that way, the mark side isn't as interesting but still nice.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I think I can now begin to have some time to participate like I want to. First I need to thank a few people. First and formost to Rufus1949 Rufus1949 . Bob is such a great guy. Opened up the mail one day and this beautiful titusville cutlery copper and stag lamb was sitting in the mail box. Thanks for the lovely gift buddy.

Jb lamb & brazos oak crook stick. A big hefty stick. I don't know if you are aware rubber feet come in standard size 19, 22 & 25mm. This stick is a little over 25mm & split the new foot. So I decided to carve it down & hand sanded it. I went the hole hog & went down to 22mm as better options in smaller size. Like tyres a good foot makes a difference. This 1 i use a lot so it has a sherpa tip works like a shocky & flexs.

Mate bespoke is the best.
I would agree with that, for sure, except where Tool Man is involved. I hadn't known him long, when he met The Lovely Lorraine, and about a year later they decided to get married. Tool Man decided he was going to get a new waistcoat made, and suggested I should get one too. In due course, we went to his tailor's house to get measured, and subsequently to be fitted. Eventually, we picked up our waistcoats, and I paid for them. Tool Man was very pleased with his, but mine was 4 inches too short! The wedding was in two days, so I ended up having to buy another pair of trousers, which I've not worn since, 2 sizes too big, and some braces, to avoid having a gap! The 'tailor' was apologetic, and said he would remake the garment, but it took 6 months for him to do so. When I got it back, it was still 2 inches short, smaller overall, and with the pockets in the wrong place  Tool Man tells me the man now works on the bins (collecting garbage)

Coincidentally on Friday night, while watching the news Lorna our eldest kept coming out with different outfits for going out & get Mum's opinion, as you do. She said she wants a belt with fancy buckle & wished I still made belts. Hold on says me. I go to my cupboard & came back with this 1 I made & customer, gave me wrong size so I had to another, so been in the cupboard for about 13yrs unused. She liked it, so I put couple extra holes in & gave it a condition.

Nice  She must be pleased as Punch :)
I have to agree here! After looking around at what was available... There is a lot of junk out there.

At least this way, I know exactly what it is. It came out well. A couple mistakes but nothing that ruins the project. Learned a lot. I won't ever pencil lines on the front to mark out holes again! Lol.

I've made quite a few small things. Sheaths, wallets, etc... So all the basic tools are here. Didn't know how to finish the edges to I did the typical beeswax I use on everything. Looks pretty good. Not dress belt good, but good enough for my everyday.

That is quite a buckle you have there! Very neat. Looks like that'll last a lifetime!
Well done Rick :)
A wandering dog on farmers land here is likely to end up with a high projectile lead object in it's person. You are within your rights to shoot a dog on site here on your farm.
The law's the same here mate, and there are always signs up, particularly at lambing times, but stupid people ignore them. Obviously, the farmers are very reluctant to shoot a dog, but it does happen :( Unusual for this farmer to have to shoot 4 in one go!

Would have been annoying.

Big Rose looks very "apeeling" there Jack.

Maybe Mitch! :D Yes, I'm sure he'd have been more upset if his own waistcoat hadn't been right 🧐 I've tried telling him what happened to Lefty when he vouched for Donnie Brasco, but he only watches movies about WW2  :D

Thanks Bob :D
I had another new lamb out, but will need to hit the weight room to open it.View attachment 2285164
What are the covers? Sorry to hear you're struggling mate, if you have a look in the Thread Index linked to in post #1, there are some links to posts with very helpful advice on how you might make it easier to open

Lamb and brisket sounds wonderful. Have fun!
Thanks! I did. Of course now we need to take down the tent. (It did rain.)
siAfXlj.jpg

The brisket was superb. The lamb didn't have enough spice for me to really like it. There was also pork, which I get plenty of at my bar, and chicken. BBQ chicken always reminds me of the volunteer firemen in a village in the upper Mohawk. They BBQ chicken every year, and everybody buys a ticket because it's in a good cause, but nobody eats the chicken. Though I'm sure ours would have been fine.

Always best to that first Bob, there's usually a fair bit of gunk in there. I'd always advise folks to avoid doing anything irreversible until they've been using it a couple of weeks
