Welcome to the GuardiansThat looks very handsome, how's the fit and finish?
Many thanks my friend, I hope you're doing well![]()
Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is keeping well, and that your week is going OK. I'm feeling pretty rough today, like I have a heavy cold. Hopefully that's all it is, but I might take a Covid test later, lot of it about here, and I have come into contact with a lot of people this past week. Carrying my Ebony '18. Have a great day Guardians

Oh Boy, ok that does it, I am going to have an EDC Swap around this weekend, and out will come an old Lambsfoot- you guys are driving me crazy Dwight and Steve with your gorgeous shots of these oldies. Thanks Jack. I hope you get over the cold quick. If you catch it early I've found "AIRBORNE" will sometimes stop it before it takes hold. Basically a megadose of Vitamin C.

Love the photo's you have been posting of late Steve. I started collecting old hammers a wee while back along with Hatchets- I have them up on my Garage Walls! Thanks !
Picked up an old Plumb 4oz ball and peen hammer. Should be perfect for working on old knives that need tightening up.

Fit and finish is pretty good. The horn handles are nice, pins are flush, no big gaps in the liners, and the pull is around 7-8 with a nice snap to close. The blade is slightly off center and came fairly dull, but overall I’m very happy with my new acquisition! I’m glad to finally be able to contribute to the Guardians!!Welcome to the GuardiansThat looks very handsome, how's the fit and finish?

It's rosewood ... for now.... there are a pile of options here that it could be in the future. Walnut, spalted maple on the way (this is Bob's fault), toby tree, black locust, olive wood and probably more
I don't know. The rosewood is nice but I do need a new project.
Hope you are all having a good week so far. Happy hump day!

I might be the oddball here but I like their "almost Barlow" more than the normal longer bolster. The new IXLs are tempting though, but they seem to have the correct long bolster and I just imagine it being an anchor!handle, but they can be a bit clueless about patterns at that firm (I nearly posted 'in Sheffield', but the other remaining Sheffield firms manage to get it righ
Thanks Bob! I got the rosewood because it was the economical option for modifying, but I'm a bit torn now.... the dark brown rosewood is pretty nice. Lol!Congrats Rick, looking forward to the transformation
Thanks Steve.Congrats
