That thing has knife handles growing out of its head?!?!?!!It a nice morning here and I’m enjoying my big cup of coffee. Took out my kudu bone lambsfoot. Yesterday morning this buck came by and decided to take a break. He sat there for quite awhile. I got some pics.

Good morning Guardians. Beautiful sunny morning at 66 deg F going up into the 70's. Nice morning for my stroll - only 3 miles but very invigorating. Got to see some regulars out on the trail that I recognized. Going with my HHB today.

By the time I got to Charlie's, a 30-strong gang of yuppies from the local park run had taken over the place, commandeering most of the tables, and pushing them all togetherI got my coffee, and sat outside to avoid their braying voices!
I headed into town next, and passed through the market. The monthly vintage fair was on, and I picked up an ivory page-turner. I used to pass them onto Stan ShawI'd decided to go to the cinema, and went for Thai first

I had a look round town, and then went for coffee and a slice of chocolate and banana loaf to pass a bit of time before the movie

Had to reach for this one on a beautiful fall day. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thanks mate, it wasa a good day.Sounds like a nice day, Mitch. Was that you that left the tire marks in the intersection?
Thanks, Jack. The real secret is taking way too many photos with my phone of the same knife/knives using different props/backgrounds in different locations with different lighting (sometimes at different times of day) and hoping for one halfway decent pic out of the lot.And the real real secret is that, most of the time, it’s just dumb luck.
Sounds good, Bill. We have some decidedly fall weather in the forecast for the next week+.

I wonder if they’re affiliated with that gang of “bikers” we ran into at the Fat Cat…
Sounds like a nice day. Glad to hear you’re on the mend.
Great pic of your Albers.
Julie and I had a chance to go out for a date night tonight. We decided to try an Italian place that we hadn’t been to before, and learned while we were waiting for a table that it was actually their last day before they closed for good. (Julie had heard that they might be closing; apparently the building had been sold and they weren’t given the opportunity to keep their lease.)
Despite all that (or perhaps because of it, like some sort of last hurrah), the service and food were good. We shared a bottle of wine, started with some arancini, and I had chicken parmesan. We had tiramisu for dessert (Julie’s favorite), but I guess I didn’t get a picture.

Had a fun morning. I met my brother and sister-in-law at the Minnehaha dog Park on the Mississippi River. It was cool but the sun came out and it was a pleasant temp in the sunshine. Cassie of course had a blast swimming and going after sticks
I had my small stag lamb in my pocket

Nice work on those slips RickThat thing has knife handles growing out of its head?!?!?!!
We have herds of deer around here. Weird because there are only small tracts of woods, but they thrive. They are city deer though. None nearly as large as your friend there. The biggest buck I've seen is almost legal. Why can't you count the brow tines.... common...
Some are so tame it's crazy. I have a little buddy at work. It was in spots not long ago following me around outside. Always about 50' away just watching. Now he's getting bigger and likes to stare at me and stomp his foot. I do it back of course. He seems to get a kick out of it. I haven't seen him as much lately, though.

I'm on my own today and ended up making a couple of these slips out of some brown oil tan. One was supposed to be for the new BF knife but I didn't like the way it fit so they went to other knives. They turned out well and soupy did most of the heavy cutting. It's about time to touch up the blade again, maybe tomorrow.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
Do you use the tung oil on your sticks Mitch (you've reminded me of how long it is since I last made one)? That's just the sort of daily cutting task a Lambsfoot excels atJB lamb.
I got a new bottle of oil the orher day. As it was big I bought a couple sauce bottles for easier use. I thought I had a funnelmade 1.

Nice work on those slips RickI live less than 2 miles from the city centre, but sometimes see deer close to where I live. Unfortunately, they have just built some houses on part of the woodland where I used to see them. I don't know why they had to build there, as there's loads of other places in the area where they could have built
Do you use the tung oil on your sticks Mitch (you've reminded me of how long it is since I last made one)? That's just the sort of daily cutting task a Lambsfoot excels at![]()
Great photo Dwight
LOL!You're very modest my friend

LOL!It's been really gentrified round there recently, but I'd hope that this lot would have been slung out on their ears at the Fat Cat!
They're so arrogant and entitled, moving all the furniture around, blocking the doorway, then they sit there for 2 hours, eating their own food, drinking water, with maybe just a couple of them ordering coffee, and just making a racket. Not so long ago, round here, they'd have all been handed their teeth!
I hate it when a rough neighbourhood goes to the dogs!
Talking of bikers, I noticedsf fanatic made a couple of posts, in the EDC thread, about a Blue Angels display
That's the name of Tool Man's old bike club (the bike club that gives other bike clubs a bad name!)!
That looks like great food, and a great night out BarrettSad that you weren't be able to go there again

It's good stuff mate, I use a few different oils. My mate was just telling me he was oiling all their work surfaces yesterday, sounded like he was using Danish 'oil' thoughJack I do works great on sassafras wood.
Speaking of bikies. I used to work security, 1 of my jobs was a caravan park, it was right on the beach & had problems with drug dealers so I would be on site weekends & holidays I would be walking around on site till 4am. Well 1 week the lone wolves had a reunion & stayed at the park pub was next door. Some of the plebs were trying to give me a hard time. Sergent of arms walked up told them to f@#*k off he's doing his job & rhe bikes would be safe. Then he turned & looked at me & asked if I know where they can get some hookers![]()
Yes, definitely MitchJack get back to making sticks because it will make you smile![]()
