Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

What awesome people within the Guardians.
All the care shown toward Jack.

Now that Jack has mentioned it, falling is terrible for anyone and it happens to everyone of all ages.

People seem to relate falling just to the elderly.
Seeing Jack fall was like it was in slow motion - bloody horrible seeing our Pal go down, but he took it like a champ and our Jack is a bit of a “tough bugger”
Hope each day it gets better Jack.

Have a great day everyone 😍
Jack Black Jack Black -:oops::oops:
I've been away a couple of days and didn't hear Jack!! I hope your knee is OK!!??
Heal well my friend!!👍

And even minor falls can have devastating consequences. When my wife took a fall in the bathroom last year, she broke her right femur (clean break, complete separation of the two halves), her left tibia just above the ankle, and another bone in her ankle. Now she sports a titanium rod in her right femur and a large plate with 12 screws in her left ankle/tibia. Airport security will be interesting.

Jack Black Jack Black Hopefully no permanent damage was done, other than to your pride.
Oh, that's terrible, poor lady :( It's true though, I have known people who have suffered life-changing, (and even life-ending), consequences, as a result of a minor fall. Just today, Ex-Para Steve returned to the market after being away for 2 months. He went on holiday to Lanzarote, and his wife feinted in a corridor, and somehow managed to break both legs

My pride went out the window long ago, my friend! :D ;)
Hope all goes well buddy 👍🤠
Thanks David, they were quite shocked at the extent of the bruising, and the x-ray showed some arthritis, and calcification, around my knee-cap, but the steel rod is still in place, thankfully :)
Morning Guardians! Hope y'all have a good one. Kat is prowling and growling today 🤠

Fantastic :)

My knee is OK (ish), but my internet connection is appalling! I just had to sit in the street to do a Zoom conference! 😖

Gravel was down early at the market today, and generous as always, there was a sausage roll waiting for me when I arrived. I went and got coffee and doughnuts, and we set about the serious work of the day ;)

Boring Ray, having sold his Knobkerry before I arrived, was full of himself, and now considers himself an expert, though not as much as the bloke he sold it to, who advised him it had been carved with stone tools. I Had to remind Ray that he hadn't even known what it was a fortnight ago, and that he had simply sold it to someone as daft as himself

Barry The Original Ted called in, with a bag of old photos we have all seen many times. Kind-hearted Gravel feigned interest :D

Tool Man and myself took the opportunity to retreat, on the pretext of having a word with Golden Gordon ;) Gravel was leaving early today, so we washed down some mushroom and onion bhajis with Dandelion & Burdock, and he headed home, and I headed to the hospital.

Apologies for the abbreviated report, but I shall try to make up for it next week - assuming anything interesting happens

After hours at the hospital, I arrived home to a very thoughtful Iberian gift package from Johnnythefox Johnnythefox , which I thought particularly kind, considering he had had to carry everything back on his bike :) This cool beer-mat was included :) Some of the other items included, I'll be posting about elsewhere :D ;)

I also received a lovely hand-written letter from Greg WhittlinAway WhittlinAway a few days ago, which was a very nice surprise. Greg included two pocket slips he had made for me, sized to fit a standard A. Wright Lamb :)

I was glad you were there to help me get up pal! 👍👍

Yeah, I'm not sure what'll happen if there's an issue with it. I had the rod put in when I broke my tibia in 2002. A few years later, I had the screws removed, but they said taking the steel rod out would involve extensive surgery, put me back on crutches, and leave my leg susceptible to breaking again. None of that sounds very convenient 🙄 Good luck with the car Jer, nice Lamb there 👍

Improper use may void the warranty though 😁👍

Wow, what a pair of beauties! 😎 Nice pic Bob 😊👍

The last few times I've been to the hospital, I've been impressed by the low waiting times. It's very different today. I queued to book in, and since then, I've been sat in a small waiting room, on an uncomfortable seat, with about 20 other people, for 2 1/2 hours, with no sign of anything happening at all ☹️
I could bore for England about kness.
One side they stapled the other they sewed up of mine, 2 different problems.

A nurse came to my house to remove the stitches after I was discharged from the hospital.
I was on the bed she was pulling the end of the stitches with a pair of pliers from the end of the bed.

I was screaming in pain she was calling me a baby and saying children made less fuss. 😆
After 5 minutes she said hang on I have to make a quick call.

She went in the next room and I could hear her.
"What colour are removable stitches and what colour are disintegrating stitches"?

Thats right mine where disintegrating stiches as my wound was so bad, they where knotted and everything.
They where never going to come out.

I hope you get better soon Jack.

If you are lucky you might get the very attractive Doctor I had one time.
I was laying on the examination table in my shreddies while she was stroking my inner thigh to reassure me (I think).😇

She said I dont think we need to see you again,I was was saying oh I think I had better see you again just in case. 🤣

I have never wanted to see a doctor again so much. 🤭

The only silver lining was that I had to retire early to take care of her during the long recovery because after six weeks my cost after insurance to keep her in a rehab facility was more than I was earning. We may not be as well off but I no longer have to deal with a very high stress job.

Glad to hear that your tibia is intact.

That is ageing nicely Jer :)
That must be a VERY big knife. 😁

Ouch! Thanks mate, fingers crossed! :D ;) Many thanks for the very kind package, some fascinating stuff there :)

Lambertiana that’s terrible. 😞

A true partner for life.😍 I do hope your wife has recovered enough to live a normal life.

I particularly enjoyed that part of your adventure John, what a great bar! Here's a pic of The Clash in York, in 1985, after they decided to go on the road busking, as a bit of an adventure ;) Joe Strummer called it "the best tour we ever did." After doing some busking in York city centre, they spent the rest of the day in The York Arms. Later on, about 100 people followed them through the old streets of the town, as they sang, and strummed along. They had another sing-song at Saint John's college, before being thrown out by Security, so they returned to The York Arms, and then did a spontaneous gig on the steps of the Minster. When the police arrived to move them on, Strummer was grabbed by an eager copper, and the band belted out 'I Fought The Law...', accompanied by several hundred Yorkshire voices. They went back to the pub, and onto an 18th birthday party at a local nightclub. And they played the next day in York too :)

Please give her all our love :)
Glad to hear that your tibia is intact.
The spiral fracture took 6 months to heal, but hopefully I won't break it again ;) I feel like The $6 Man :D
