Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Miserable weather here, with driving rain, and howling winds, but we seem to have fared better than many places. No bread for my sourdough toast, so I'm having to contend with muesli. It's good muesli, but I do like my toast. I think I've got an online meeting this afternoon, and there's a possibility I'll be working this evening, but I can take it easy for now Have a good day Guardians

Boxes to get rid of

We had some chips (crisps) from that same brand a while back that we got from Costco. If remember correctly, on the bag they claimed to be “Australia’s favorite” or something along those lines. Of course, I have no idea how accurate that is. Could just be some marketing from the same folks who used to tell us that Foster’s was “Australian for beer.”

Flanno, shorts and ugg boots although more hoodies these days.
But the ultimate classic- hoody or sloppy joe top, tracky pants and pluggers(flip flops).

Wearing shorts in winter is a (somewhat inexplicable) thing for teenage boys here in Minnesota. It can be 10 below zero with a foot of snow on the ground and you’ll still see these geniuses get off the school bus wearing shorts.

How's everyone doing? Cold here again today, 21F when I left the house. I was well-wrapped up. Down at the market, it was very quiet, with a lot of the traders taking the day off, and most of the punters staying at home too. Our visitors were limited to Long-suffering Shirley, who brought us some doughnuts, and Wolfie, with whom I went for a coffee. The cold weather had not stopped him and his missus going for a swim at 5am, and while he admitted it was cold, he rationalised their madness by informing me that it was a tropical 7C in the water! I don't know what that is in Old Money, as Wolfie's generation are on Metric and Celsius We had some bad news in the afternoon, I'm afraid, Barry The Original Ted suffered a stroke in the week. He lost consciousness, and was not discovered for an hour. The ambulance then took another hour to arrive. It is very unlikely he will regain consciousness Bearing in mind the average age of the Tool Stall regulars, it's surprising we don't get this sort of sombre news more often

Thanks Bob, with the state of the British infrastructure, it probably wasn't a good weekend to be travelling. We have a storm due - Storm Bert - and it's set to rain a lot. I think the temperatures are due to increase a bit, but I actually prefer the cold, sunny weather to the rain. We had so much last year I hope you have a good one buddy

Winter rain is the worst.

I was perusing Ebay last week when a pair of Barlows popped up. I was shocked when there was not one but two of these rare Lambs. It was a seven day auction with 6 days left so now the waiting began. There were seven other people watching the auction so I thought they might go for big money. I talked to my friend David and asked if he wanted in on it since there were two of them and he said yes. Nobody had bid leading up to the end of the auction so I was worried that there might be a lot of action near the end. I put my bid in with less than a minute left of the auction and waited for the bids to come flying in at the end. Adrenaline pumping the auction ends and shockingly I was the only person to bid.
Sometimes you get lucky

Here they are, one will be getting shipped out to echoscout today or tomorrow.

I’ve had my lucky number 13 Cosimo in my pocket pretty much every day since it arrived.

It was pure joy to have her in my arms.
Fortunately, Gracie is just learning crawl.

Bizarrely, considering our winters were even colder back then, when I was young, boys were sent out in shorts, whatever the weather You'd get a visit from Social Services today!
