Well, it seems the contest has come to an end.
There were 4 contestants...
Their guesses were
DaleS..24
BlackMamba..32
Waynorth...33
Euroscout...25

My wife the judge just gave me the correct number.

Afternoon all
Getting near 4 here, it's hot here, so I've put the AC on & watching the Missing with Tommy Lee Jones, that is until Kristy gets home and says we have to go to Costco or the shopsπŸ˜‰

Enjoy your movie pal πŸ™‚ πŸ‘

Good morning Guardians πŸ‘ Just waiting for my taxi here πŸ₯± Have a great day πŸ‘

Happy Friday Guardians. Those Gerstner Chests works really well with knives. I have one just like that sitting on a table next to my favorite chair. Very convenient. And another gesture of generosity from Bob. Bob you are a good guy.

I haven’t posted a beach picture in awhile. Here’s an older one that came out good. I can’t really walk now as I evidently somehow pinched a nerve in my lower lumber region. I have never had back problems. But besides this one now I have some severe back problem with a long medical name I can’t spell. I have a physical therapist to work with now. They tell me in 6 weeks I should be able to get around. Just started oxy for pain this morning. I should be able to get back to where I was and deal with the underlying problem. So I’m very happy the prognosis is good. I know others here have had real serious health issues and emphasize with you. I just needed to vent a bit.

On a positive note I won’t be walking down to check the mailbox for knives for a few weeks. And there’s a good chance I’m going to start collecting canes. I won’t get one with a sword in it. Well maybe with a big long lambsfoot.

Really sorry to hear Kurt. May you find relief quickly.πŸ™

If you need to, have your knives sent to me. I can at least make it to my mailbox.😁

Arrived from Sheffield in rough shape. Spent a few hours sanding off the burrs, taking the grind marks off the blades- nice satin finish now. Scratches on the bolsters were too deep to remove, but everything is buttery smooth. Rounded out the jagged parts of the butt end and gave it a couple coats of flaxseed oil.

Great walk and talk on the main and the pen blade has the strongest snap of all my traditionals. Appreciate this community.

I'd love to know your process for how you cleaned up those blades. That satiny finish is sweet! And the covers look healthy and strong.

First, used a diamond impregnated sharpening rod to take off the big burrs on the blades.

Then sanded horizontally starting from 120, 220, 320, 400. Same on the covers (and bolsters, but a bit of a lost cause there).

Thank you. Looks very well done!

Thanks Duncan, just continuing the tradition of passing good fortune forward.πŸ‘πŸ»
My turn is coming up early next year, its WELL overdue, just wait for the post ( especially as I will be posting from New Zealand) to settle down.

Thanks again my friend for being such an integral part of this amazing Lambsfoot community.

Thanks Bob. This is a good hobby for those a bit sedentary. It won’t be long before all my knives joints are oiled up. Wish mine were. πŸ˜€. I’m thinking of getting a top hat to go with my cane and going full Mr. Peanut.

At least you know it was made in Sheffield, and not China ;) Nice work on making it shipshape :) Welcome to the Guardians

LONG day here, but all went smoothly. I got my work done, and after a nice Indian lunch, having a couple of hours to spare, I called in at the People's History Museum. They had Thomas Paine's desk! Strange story about his body though
