Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I wish I knew, Jack. Could be oak? The pile side is nice as well, but much tamer.

Thank you, I think it's certainly a spectacular representative of whatever it is.
I don't think the grain structure looks like oak, but then again I'm an idiot so who knows. It's a beautiful knife at any rate.

Evening all
Home.
Yesterday we did lot's of walking. Kristy checking out the beach.

We walked all the way back around along the river.
The pub we had dinner at and view from pub.

Sorry Paul and Steve, this is the heated pool we had to ourselves.

Get well soon mate,

What's the wood on that Tay tay? It's a beautiful knife.

I'm first day back at work this week after being sick the past few days. Plenty to do

You could send them an email Will! :D The MD there was still Alistair Fisher, the last time I heard  Great pic
Jack Black Jack Black As others have already stated I am so sorry to hear of this latest abuse! One thinks "well it can't get worse" and then someone at NHS says "hold my beer".

Prayers for a speedy and full healing with zero hurdles in between.
Thanks a lot my friend :) I met an old feller on holiday the other year, and a surgeon had mistakenly amputated his LEG! ๐Ÿคฌ

Good morning Guardians. Cold blast coming in today so I cancelled out of golf - not getting out of the 30's (deg F) today. Can't wait to see our heating bill for this month:eek:. Due to family issues I have been absent from the forum for a little while but slowly getting back into the swing of things. Big Blue will be in my pocket today.

With wood, many times, there is a great difference between old growth and new growth, in the same species. There is also, quarter sawn cut, end cut, etc. so it could be oak.

Or it could be hunk a wood.๐Ÿ˜„

Very true, Bob! I forgot the specific term for the feature, but it has those long, relatively pronounced striations in the surface texture that I usually associate with oak. That's the entirety of my basis for classification. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm gonna try to get an email out to them today - maybe that'll help clear things up.

I've got a "lesser" knife (read "not a lamb") that I've been meaning to send Otter an email about as well. Still under the weather - maybe today is a good knife research day.
