Jer, you have no idea how happy this photo makes me. I was taken on a deep dive into Medieval Lit as precocious English major in the 80s. Along the way discovered all manner of heavy metal weaponry to my delight. The halberd is one of my favorites! Hard to find a better tool for all-purpose raiding, safe-distance dismemberment and occasional beheadings!actually found a haft that fits my new halberd in the front corner of my garage
Not too late to give it a try, Charlie. I like the smell of some pipe tobaccos, but, the one time I tried smoking one I got so sick I thought I was dying. Now I really wish I smoked a Pipe!!! Famous names in literature, and cutlery history!!![]()

Jack I hope you’re enjoying your trip. I wonder how the guys at the Market did today? Here in Santa Cruz the rain has been visiting but that’s ok. Today I grabbed this Albers in purple heart.

Gloomy weather on this Friday in Dallas, Guardians! I have promised the fair lady a morning of retail shopping for summer clothes followed by a fancy lunch, and we are already on the move. No lollygagging until later. I hope everyone has a fine Friday. View attachment 2832280
Afternoon Guardians, hope you're all well. Not a chance of catching up, but here's a pic from the window of my Keswick hotel

I read this when I was ten.Jer, you have no idea how happy this photo makes me. I was taken on a deep dive into Medieval Lit as precocious English major in the 80s. Wow thanks! This is so neat. It's great to see past work still kicking. I've spent some time recently at a great maker's shop and trying to absorb all the advice. For the time being I'm essentially restarting. The main advice he gave was to just take one basic pattern and make it over and over again. It isn't a lambfoot but just a basic straight jack. After a few dozen or hundred, I'll be back.Generous Bob strikes again! This beauty just arrived - made byashwinearl , sent to me by
Rufus1949 . I had admired this when Bob posted pics, but I think it may be even prettier in person - my quick pics here certainly don't do it justice.
It's interesting that this has three features I usually like in slipjoints, but that are rare in lambs - it has a shield, a half-stop, and a long pull. It feels like a very American-style lamb.

Many thanks, Bob - this will be enjoyed (and carried and used) quite a bit!
