Darn it! I just noticed my morning post this morning didn't post! 😖

Interesting coin with your Lamb Dwight
Easter greeting to all Guardians and frequenters of the Porch. 🥰 🥰 🥰
The same to you Leon, I hope you have a good one brother

Good morning Guardians, and I hope everyone is having a good Easter weekend. It's a 4 day holiday here, so there'll be lots of boozing go on  We all had a great time yesterday, but were exhausted by the time we got home. I'll try to get a report up later. I'm going to be taking it easy today ;) Have a great day Guardians

Big Texas news today, Guardians! I have a new @waynorth lamb in my flock. Some of you may recognize this one as Jelly. Since I had been fruitlessly searching for an FC lamb, Mike decided to make me a deal on this earlier gen beauty that had been seeing less pocket time with him. Now to spend Good Friday and Easter weekend getting cozy with the rest of my 🐑 View attachment 2851530View attachment 2851531
Looks like you got a good one, Dave! 😉

Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks buddy and glad to hear you had a good time !
Thank you Steve, Matt was telling about how much he was going to enjoy going to the gym this morning. When I rang him about 11am, he'd only just got out of bed! 🤣
Good morning 😊.
I wish a Happy Easter to everyone.
Happy Easter Cosimo, it's great to see you here :) Great-looking knife as your avatar :)
Cosimo, Happy Easter to you too and thanks for an excuse to post a pic of this one. In the light it’s a different color. I don’t know why I bought the square there of micarta other then it’s kind of a neat doodad. Guess I like that shade of green.

Same to you Bill :)
I tried a new spot for tacos in Dallas yesterday, too! They were excellent, on house made corn tortillas. View attachment 2852651View attachment 2852653
Those look delicious :)
Morning Guardians! Cloudy cool and rainy. The atmosphere has a very weird yellow tint to it. Strange times we live in. Hope y'all have a good one 🤠

No doubt, something, somewhere is burning! Cool pic David :)

I've spent most of the day editing the 300+ photos I took yesterday! I had a walk down to Charlie's, for coffee, and a piece of baklava, and there was a Vaisakhi parade, so I took some pics of that on my phone! :D

Nice one Jack, have a great day !

Pace-Egg turned out to be a good shout, despite some rather inclement weather. Matt and his family absolutely loved it, and are already talking about next year :D There were lots of new people there this year, but plenty of old hands too, and it was nice to bump into some old friends I haven't seen in a while. If you want to learn more about Heptonstall and/or Hebden Bridge do a search on my name and either of those names here, and you should be able to bring up some old posts and threads from the past

After arriving at Hebden's beautiful old station, Matt decided he and Cillian were going to hike up the precipitous hill to Heptonstall, while the rest of us opted for the bus - guess that's why I wasn't still in bed at 10.30am! 🤣 There was a 20 minute wait for the bus though, so the lads made it just before us, with Cillian standing there with cheeks as pink as bubble gum! :D The first performance was already under way, but we made the short walk to Weaver's Square to watch it, and the kids were immediately entranced. There were already a few hundred people there.

The highlight was when Old Tosspot, the Fool, of the ensemble, was scouting round the audience, looking to kiss a few girls in the audience, and lighted on Ruth, Matt's missus! 🤣 So there's some luck for the coming year! 🤣🤣

Afterwards, we immediately headed to the pub, and had a couple of pints, before going back to see the second show. Part of the fun about Pace-Egg is that the play is performed 4 times, with the players going for a few pints in the pub between performances. In recent years, I have developed a theory that the ageing gents perhaps don't actually drink as much as they did in the past, and that the inevitably shambolic 4th show is somewhat hammed up. However, I can now accept I was being overly cynical, and that the performers are genuinely 3 sheets to the wind! :D

The second show went smoothly enough though, and more and more people began to arrive. Then we had some lunch, and more beer. In recent years, I have only stayed for one or two performances, but Matt and his family wanted to stay for all 4, so that is what we did, despite the rain, which didn't stop from lunchtime onwards. The 2 pubs were absolutely packed, and at one point, we considered ourselves lucky to find some shelter in a cramped woodshed! :D

Sure glad you had a great time buddy 👍🤠

By the 4th show, the crowd had swollen to thousands, and were as inebriated as the players, packing out the square to the point where there was barely space to perform.

I have studied old English traditions, and most of them are long gone, but the foremost of them still remains - drinking - with Easter being the last of the old extended holidays. For many, yesterday will have just been the start of a long and boozy weekend. The other thing, the people of these isles really like, is fighting, (and they are certainly not alone in that). Thankfully, at Pace-Egg all the fighting is for fun, and a drop of 'Nip Nap' raises the fallen. The climax of the day is always heart-warming and emotional, and no doubt many of the locals carry on carrying on long after dark. We decided to go for a curry before a snoozy train ride home

Happy to see someone keeping traditions alive. Glad to hear you could be part of it Jack.
