Howdy Guardians!!!
I have missed going on this Thread, but while traveling and relying on Wifi - it's darned hard to get the time.
Well imagine this......
We are all Vikings- having just come back from battle, bought home some Human toys, telling stories of how we sent a few Christians to meet their maker - then Ironside Barrett stands up - his face still smeared with blood glowing from the Fire and cries out the betrayal of a fellow Viking, and that he must be punished - all the Vikings stand up, spilling wine from their Horn drinking vessels and cry out which one, I throw a maiden from my lap knowing it's me.
Ironside Barrett cries out that while passing through the TSA in the longship " skeiðar" I was stopped as I had forgotten to place my beloved Polish Lambsfoot Elevator Micarta that the raiding party had taken during lasts years epic battle. Ironside Barrett had these made for the war party by the local "Smior" - a fine Viking Blacksmith called Eric the Bold.
I knew I had made a grave mistake as Ironside Barrett and Ragnar Punchard looked at me as the TSA were looking at me emptying my Bearskin pouch and there before me in my hand was Eric the Bolds knife!
Fear immediately gripped me at the same time of disbelief that this was not stowed upon the longship bag, this was a tense moment.
I looked at my fellow friends, but they no longer were my friends as they spat on my feet for being lower than our slaves at that point as I tried to explain.
Thankfully the TSA allowed Eric the Bolds Knife to be delivered back to the Village "Hedeby" and so the Knife will return, but my Warrior status stripped from me and I am at the mercy of what was my fellow raiding party members having already lost the Stag Lambsfoot previously.
The wait brings fear, the shame worse.
Good morning Guardians, what a feast of Lambs!I hope everyone is doing OK, halfway through the week already. I have a bit of work on, but might see if I can get into town for a haircut lately. My headwound has healed quite well, though I have a large scar still. It'd look a lot better if I hadn't bumped into a surgeon
Thought I'd have a Double Lambsfoot Day today, with 2 fine gifts from Charlie
Have a great day Guardians

I know what you mean Mitch, I called in a 'health store' here yesterday, place was packed. I asked if they had anything for hypochondria!
Nice shot PaulI need to do a better job of keeping up. I blink and 5 pages go by. Carrying the Rodgers Lamb for my shift. I’ve weaken the spring on the secondary some. It doesn’t want to murder my fingernail anymore. It just wants to beat it so bad it wakes up in the ER

Wow, it’s like being right back there again. That is exactly how I remember it happening. Amazingly well recounted! You’re a regular Snorri Sturluson.
Thanks for a good laugh, my friend.![]()
Thanks palGood to hear that your wound is healing well, Jack. Hopefully the scar will become less noticeable over time. If not, you can always embellish the story to make it more exciting.![]()

I hope they fry him.Back in Jersey amid wildfires that have claimed about 20,000 acres of our pine Barrens. They caught the 19 year old who set it.
No, not at all!
Did they get it?
Hard taskmasters Jer! Enjoy your day off brotherI just checked for the umpteen-bazillionth time- I'm not scheduled for today. I really do have a second day in a row off for the first time in a year. And I don't have to do anything at church, either.
I think I'll rattle my machete in the yard- I'm not getting my money's worth out of that weekly brush pick-up.

Looking good buddy
Hi Simon, and welcome to Bladeforums. I am from Sheffield, know Stannington well, and have studied and written about the history of Sheffield Barlow knives. This is not the best thread to ask your questions though, there is a popular and longstanding Barlow thread here. I will ask one of our kind moderators to move your post there. I would suggest searching within that thread, using 'Stannington'. However, please read the rules for this sub-forum, which you will find stickied at the top of the page, and also linked to in post 1 of this thread.Sorry to resurrect this very old Thread, but I'm very interested in Luke Furnace. I live in a 16C house in Stannington, and in that house in 1966 an old document was found (I have a copy) referencing Luke Furnace. We have grinding wheels in the Garden, and a Crook barn next door. Many of the residents of my hours were knife makers and farmers - I'm keen to learn more about the Luke and looking to track down and buy a knife made by him, as it was probably made in my Garden.
Incurable, like ignorance? No, not at all!I told them it was an incurable illness!
Good grief, that's terrible Bob!Beautiful Lamb
Good luck mateThanks for all the prayers and well wishes guys. It's just a torn meniscus repair so it shouldn't be too bad.Havagud'n

Thanks Jack.
The wind shifted, so we can air our ho.es out now.
Glad the healing is going well.
