Hi Duncan, that's good to hear mateHey there Jack
No, I won't go hungry my friend
That Deakin doesn't have what you would call the "Ultimate" shaped Lambsfoot shape- as in the want of it to be longer and slimmer, Jack I am interested to know your thoughts on this my friend.
Yet this H. Deakin has the stove-pipe kick, rats tailed Bolsters, heavy stamping of the "REAL LAMBFOOT" ( no "S"). The stamping being heavy enough to indent the middle of the blade as they did, as well as the grand Sheffield style of the jig work on the Bone.
NIce-looking Lamb
Nice thing to do Mitch, and that Vodka sounds good. Sounds like you've made an intereesting new friend, and a talented oneEvening all
We went to the Sunday markets today, beautiful winters day
The owners of a local distillery had a stall. I picked up a bottle of vodka very smooth.
You will love this, came across a jewellery engravers stall. We got talking when he found out Iβm in to knives and old skills we got along. He is old school, chisel & hammer and learnt from a gun engraver. He showed me some engraved knives and I told him what it was and the blade steels he was very enthusiastic and showed me examples of other things including some very nicely carved leather cuffs. It was great coming across someone that has the same sort of interests.

Hope that penny helps Cillian appreciate the gift Jack.I had a walk down to Matt's to drop off Cillian's Lambsfoot, and made sure I got a penny off himI also had a bottle of flavoured Rum for Matt's missus. Eve bought it me 2 or 3 years ago, and it's really not my thing. I called in Charlie's for a coffee on my way down, and am having a soft drink.before I walk back up the hill. It was cramped in that Bradford cinema last night, and my legs are aching
Hope everyone is having a great day

Me too Bob, he tried giving me a Pound coin, but I said that wouldn't do. I gave him a knife a few years back, and he has been very respectful with it, and been whittling, with ideas from a whittling book I gave him a couple of years ago. The Lamb has a wee pouch, which he can pocket or belt carry. I should have taken a picHope that penny helps Cillian appreciate the gift Jack.
Enjoy the afternoon there.
Thanks JackHi Duncan, that's good to hear mateIt's an interesting Lamb, the blade form does vary. I have 2 or 3 William Rodgers Lambs which have blades, which are quite blocky at the pointy end. I'll try to edit in some pics when I get back home
NIce-looking LambThat's who I figured it would be. The son of Eggington's old gaffer, Ron Brookes, started using that name about 15 years ago, and producing stuff that was a bit fancier, such as large, fancy Bowies
Nice thing to do Mitch, and that Vodka sounds good. Sounds like you've made an intereesting new friend, and a talented one
