Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

This book might make my imaging look more portentous than it is.

Too Much Information alert:
I'm probably headed for hernia repair surgery.
I had one back in 1962, when there wasn't much in the way of imaging and I don't think any imaging was used, and all my straits were narrower, and my surgeon was our general practitioner who was a bit past his prime. He actually was all set to operate on me for the wrong thing, until the morning of the operation.
So this one should be fine.
If I have to greet from a wheelchair for a while, I happen to have one in the garage that I picked up from a neighbor's bulk trash a few years ago.

Highs in the 80s instead of 90s today, and I'm not working today. I'll mow the back lawn before it gets too hot. Maybe go to the range and try out my new revolver grips.

I had inguinal hernia surgery back in 2014, recovery wasn't too bad. I hope yours goes as smoothly as mine did !

I do hope your dentist does not perform the operation this time!!
I hope you will not need the wheelchair. Amazing how operations have evolved in our time.
He's an endocrinologist and surgeon.
I was in the hospital for three days last time. Nowadays they'll probably dump me in the parking lot before I wake up.

Thanks.

Maybe it will be medically necessary to give me a motorized recliner with a battering ram and scythes!

And here's the new grips, in case anyone is wondering.

Pachmayr are good grips

Thanks Jack
Yeah there’s still a few, some of the mowing contractors no eye or ear protection, I think what happens if you get hurt you’re not covered.
When I did leather work. I had my reading glasses made in safety glasses. Had a disposable box cutter snap and hit the centre of a lense, saved me from a pirate look 🧐
Have a great day.
Time to watch the swans play 😁
I'm glad you dodged that bullet Mitch! 😱People can be very stupid, most Sheffield cutlers were self-employed, so evaded the safety regulations. I knew one guy who cut off his thumb on an unguarded circular saw, and then put his son to work on it! 🫣
Great to see your '19 buddy πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

I hope it goes well Jer, and that there's not too much greeting to be done 🫣 Have fun at the range πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Have a great day Jack. Nice pic of your GL-24 πŸ‘

100% πŸ‘

The road crew are laying tarmac today. It's 90 degrees, and they reckon its 105 close to all that bubbling tar. I could certainly feel the heat coming off it as I passed by. Going to be hotter tomorrow, and they'll have run out of shade! πŸ₯΅

I met up with Wolfie for an hour at Charlie's cafe, and then he gave me a lift to the docs. It was a short visit, as my throat is definitely on the mend. I headed into town, got some bread, and then walked down to the market.

Tool Man, in his favourite vest, was holding forth on some subject of interest to him. Boring Ray and Gravel were there, and shortly after, Slimline Scott arrived. I had a few small gifts for Tool Man, including a Churchill Crown in pristine condition, that he was very pleased with. Ex-Para Steve dragged me off to see some knives on Maurizio's stall, which he had bought at auction. True to form, Maurizio told me that they were all "very rare" - the best of them were Chinese Rough Riders, the worsr badly-faked Damascus from Pakistan. The man is a fool! 🫣

I escaped back to the stall, rather than risk getting Maurizio's whipped dog look by telling him he probably paid more than retail for his 'very rare' treasures πŸ™„

Gravel had been to buy some Chinese food, which Tool Man was shovelling down his gullet at a furious pace. Gravel also offered round a pack of fairy cakes he'd picked up from Our Cake Man, which Tool Man had for another dessert.

With lots I need to do before going to London, I only stayed an hour, and then headed back home πŸ‘
