Last night our eldest got us to go to the pub for dinner, half price Tuesday meals. I think it was a set up it was trivia night, so we ended up playing it was alright.

Marco is looking ready for another night out Mitch :) I once got sandbagged into going to a pub, where I then found out I was to be the fourth member of the pub quiz team! The guy who took me was a proper scoundrel! I've told the story before, but he, Raymond, had a huge shaggy German Shepherd called Flint. He was very good-natured, soft even, but his sheer size intimidated a lot of people. One of Raymond's tricks was to walk into a pub, pushing the door wide open as he entered, so it took a bit longer to swing back shut. Flint, who was never on a lead, and just ambled around, would walk in through the door after Raymond, with his huge tongue hanging out, and wander round the pub, taking up a lot of space, and sometimes knocking a stool over. Meanwhile Raymond was already at the bar, where the barman would invariably tell him he'd have to take the dog out. "Not my dog mate." Raymond would say, insisting that the dog must have just followed him in. Flint would be causing a stir in the pub, and Raymond would then negotiate a free pint if he could get rid of the beast. The barman would pass him the pint, which he'd already ordered anyway. Raymond would down the pint, turn on his heel, whistle for Flint, and the pair would be off to the next pub! 🀣

Great story πŸ˜πŸ‘

Evening all,
Forgot to mention tomorrow is my dad’s funeral.

I hope it brings peace and closure for you and your family !

My rummage sale bread-maker is still on my dining room floor.

No room on the table?! 😁 ;) Talking of which, I've been clearing some stuff off on mine. There was a nice-looking TEW I bought from Tool Man recently. First I had to take a burr off the spine where he'd had it on a wheel, then I discovered I couldn't get an edge on the blade! 😑 It doesn't matter how many times I tell him, the stupid clod thinks he's doing a great job cleaning off the muck and surface rust! πŸ˜–
Great story πŸ˜πŸ‘
Thanks, from the 1980's. There were rumours that Raymond had once been tipped for greatness treading the boards, but that drink was his downfall πŸ™„
Nice flatcap Jack.
As a kid, I had a Johnson for cruising around our lake. Never gave me a problem. I sheered many propeller pins by running over things though.πŸ₯΄
Thanks Bob 😊 Nice 😎 That price is from 1935! πŸ˜πŸ‘
