Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Very cool, and nice photo Jack!:thumbsup:

Awsome big Lambsfoot, great character!

Fantastic knives one and all! Incredible photos and beautiful chatoyancy!
I too am struggling to keep up, so I would be amiss if I didn't apologize in advance if I missed anyone!

Mine today, apologize for the less than stellar photos!

Thanks Dennis, great to see more of yours

Wow everyone has got some amazing examples of the 2019 Guardian's knife :) Mine came in today and I couldn't be more excited to have this one. It has two distinct personalities. I can't really tell which one mine is in the group photo though.

A day without a lambsfoot . . .

. . . is like a day without sunshine!

Very true Vince :)

Thank you so much, Jack, for the knives and the compliments.

I should clarify that I am in no way complaining of the dramatic differences between mark and pile sides. It is something I have come to treasure in my AC and it is something I look upon with great pleasure regarding these two in Ironwood. With the 4 different covers, I practically have 4 different knives I can enjoy. :D

That part of my post wasn't aimed at you specifically Dylan, just a convenient place to hang it ;)

You have certainly outdone yourself, Jack. These will be hard to beat, for sure. But I expect you will be up to the challenge.

I'll try my friend! ;)

Pile side waves.

Looking good Russell

Thanks GT, I'm really looking forward to my first Lambsfoot,(got the shipping notice today) and pics will be forthcoming.
Jack tells me the mystery wood is Rosewood, so I think I'll be pleased with it as I've seen a few examples posted that were very nice.

Looking forward to seeing what you get Myke :) I thought I'd carry some Rosewood today, in the form of my Big 'un

Cool photo, even though I know almost nothing about heraldry hoo ha!:cool::thumbsup:
That's from a model of the Black Prince. English lions or Plantagenet leopards and the Fleurs de Lis because the Angevin kings hadn't given up on being kings of France yet. I don't think he lived to be king; I think he died of something campaigning in Portugal in exchange for Portuguese help at Crecy.

Good day to one and all!
A few days ago, I posted a few shots of my new(ish) trio that I’ve come to know fondly as my ‘Three Musketeers’.
I did say that all I had to do now was find a worthy ‘D’Artagnan’ to join the bunch.
Well, I think I’ve found just the right chap - if only A. Wright & Sons might put him together for me.
What do you think? And any guesses whether he might break the bank?
Any advice more than welcome because I don’t have a clue...

Hope you all have a great day, Guardians, and those who have not received their Lambsfoot get them.
Here's Rosie and Iron Mike together. Preston

As everyone has been identifying their knives in the group photo, I've been wondering who would get the one with the cool dark veins. Congratulations!:thumbsup:

Those are great! It's so cool that you got a matched/mismatched set. :D

The action on mine is starting to smooth out nicely. I hope to get a picture in better light later in the week. Maybe I'll even be able to show off a little patina. ;)

Beautiful knife, both sides seem fairly well matched and so well photographed. Congratulations, look forward to more photos.

Congratulations and welcome, you're right about two distinct personalities, I'll bet it's even more evident in the sunshine.

I added a picture to my lion post. 13123, was it?

Unfortunately, my real lions are off at a lamb-toleration workshop. Lambsfoots feature prominently in the program.
Well done Jer. You will have to watch those lions even after the workshop!
Good Morning Guardians
Sunbaked wolf, great photo John.
Good morning Guardians! I hope y’all will forgive my redundancy this morning. The light was better and since it’s Wednesday I thought I might as well go with some type of wood today! ;) :D

That is a great drawing! Good luck on your quest.

Thank you, ’pjsjr’.
I’ve always wanted a GEC Beer Scout, or Caplifter, but I’ve never been able to find a supplier here in the UK that wasn’t out of stock.
Having said that, I’m still not sure that I’d have been entirely satisfied even if I had managed to bag one.
I always miss the availability of a screwdriver and a bottle opener when I’m carrying a single-bladed knife, but I absolutely love the versatility of a lambsfoot blade over a sheepsfoot - the slimmer, more pointed profile I find much better for drilling holes in leather or thin pieces of wood or plastic.
I’ve looked all over for a Sheffield made jack knife of the ‘Beer Scout’ pattern, but I have failed. I can’t even find any antique examples.

Thanks Dennis, great to see more of yours

I like Big'uns, thanks for showing yours in Rosewood Jack.:cool:

A pleasure, the Rosewood often comes a lot nicer than that

Wright's wouldn't be interested, you'd need to find a custom maker

Hope you all have a great day, Guardians, and those who have not received their Lambsfoot get them.

That's a great pic :) Thank you for the compliment

I rang Wright's this morning, and the second batch will be ready next week. I'm hoping I'll get mine back then too!

I’ve looked all over for a Sheffield made jack knife of the ‘Beer Scout’ pattern, but I have failed. I can’t even find any antique examples.

WW2 Burma Knives and '2 blade' Army Clasp Knives are widely available, as are the contemporary equivalent, and have the same blade configuration. But neither is a Lambsfoot

Great photo, Jack! Almost looks likr knife fruit than fell out of the tree!

Thanks Dennis :D

I think you’re right, Jack; this year’s Ironwood Guardians Lambsfoot is going to be a tough act to follow! That said, I believe I have the perfect solution, one that’ll really “WOW” the Guardians: Digital Camo G10!

Yes, but only with a stainless steel blade. ;)
