guess this is it

Think I found the one as far as a mid size fixed blade goes....Got my BRKT fox river today...wow is all I can say, never had a knife feel that comfortable in my hand. my quest is almost over got my perfect folder and what I believe is my perfect fixed blade (time will tell for sure)..next is the chopper..(now I got to get good at sharpening a convex grind, always have trouble when the blade starts to curve.)

What's your perfect folder? I have yet to find mine :(

No folders perfect as they all break in the middle thus providing a weak spot !!!:thumbdn:

Glad you have found a knife you really like Riley, now get out there and post us some pics of that nice convex edge in action !!! Stuff what sheeple think !

Ps. msiley, just ignore me, I have always been a little anti-folders !;)

I met a couple of hikers back in 1985 up on the AT just outside of the Smokey Mountains NP. A guy and his wife, both in their twenty's dressed to the hilt in ultra modern lightweight backpack gear. This couple did not even have so much as a penknife between them. I was equipped with a combo of stuff that I had learned worked for me that included a USAF Pilot's Survival Knife, a Skachet, folding saw and a Ruger Backhawk in .45 Colt.
We walked for a short way kinda together and ended up camping at one of those bear-proof shelters that look like a three sided cabin with a chain link wire curtain across the front. I set out gathering some wood and setting up my fire for the night. I received quite a few remarks about "leave only footprints, take only pictures" ect. ect. from them. When they proudly announced that they did not have wood cutting tools or knives with them I almost laughed out loud.
When dark came they set up a A-frame backpacking tent near the creek and I set my gear up in the shelter. During the night a big black bear with two half grown cubs came up to sample some of the freeze dried goodies they had forgotten to clean up properly. It took them all of one minute to cross the clearing leaving all their high dollar-high tech gear to momma bear and the cubs. Once in the shelter, with the gate closed they started to loosen up and talk to me about stuff. Just then momma bear came right up to the gate and tried to get in.
LOL
I thought they were gonna crap right there. I loosened the tie down on my Blackhawk and pulled my coat back exposing the stag grip. I thought they were scared of the bear until they saw that revolver grip. Honestly they cowered in the corner and were actually discussing whether or not to stay in the shelter with a potential mass murderer or sleep with hungry bears.

They stayed but on the other side of the shelter.

LOL
