The 945 is awesome, I love the Santoku Blade shape, and use the 3 that I have the most out of all of my Kitchen knives.Nice! I will be trying mine out on Thanksgiving. (I also have the 944 BOTM)
I missed out on the 946 butcher knife. If I remember correctly, it sold out before I even got a chance to order it. And I am not familiar with the 945 - that one is sweet!
So far it performs well. I chopped pecans yesterday for a recipe my wife was making. It made swift work of that task. I will report back on potatoes maybe Friday, and suspect it will be great for that.So has anyone that owns both this and a regular 931 compared the two?
I am wondering if there's enough of a difference in the grinds while cutting potatoes......
I believe that slicing tomatoes extra thin would be the forte of the Regular 931, but slicing and dicing potatoes and harder stuff will be the forte of the BOTM 931.
That being said the BOTM 931 did great on the tomatoes and onions I diced yesterday.
