Guesses on November 2022 BOTM?

As I stated earlier, I could not justify getting this one since I already have the 944 BOTM. I ordered one anyway!

Sidenote: I have not received my notification email yet. Edit: I did get a notification email shortly after ordering.

I would guess its to drum up anticipation from a wider audience?

I'm not familiar with that type of steel. Could anyone give any insight about it and how it compares to their regular kitchen knife steel? I have a set of the 7 kitchen knife collection in rosewood and I really like them.
ya askin about the 12c27m steel on this one? its Sandvik steel much like 420hc, but very clean steel and high quality. I prefer it to 420hc but they are so close you'd never really know the difference heat treated properly and all.......

as for this knife i have a blond ebony one already so don't need two. gonna pass....

Pass for me. If Buck wants me to give up my Shuns they are gonna have to step up the blade steel and I'm not fond of the handle ergos. Kinda would like some American made kitchenware too

Thank you very much for that, JB! Yes, I was wondering about the steel on this release as I'm not familiar with it. I appreciate the info.

It’s a nice knife but I’ve got a full set of Buck kitchen knives and a drawer with several off brand so I don’t need anymore. I like the hollow ground blades, I’ve never had any problems but I don’t do any fancy slicing stuff I just cut it it up and that’s that. I also have some other flat ground kitchen knives and they work pretty good too, I can’t really tell any difference except a 4 inch paring knife that is real comfortable in hand and is so controllable. I’ve thought about keeping it as a sheath knife to carry. 😆

I have a Shun Santoku that is spectacular

I'm tempted, but I really don't think it would get any use sadly. :(

My wife uses the Buck kitchen knives (and has the full BotM set other than this), but doesn't like longer chef knives. They scare her a bit, lol.

I use a combination of Spyderco/Murray, Kramer's, and customs myself, so I don't see myself using it either. :(

I kind of want it anyways.

I think the textured Cocobolo handle is a fantastic idea! Have ya'll noticed hardly any of the three Bucks with that handle are ever offered for sale? Anywhere? I bet if Buck did that handle treatment to some of the more traditional fixed blades 124, 119 103 for example they would be a must have for many collectors. It's one of my favorite 112's especially for the improved grip. I also think on a full tang blade it would be very dramatic looking. Mr. Hubbard! Bring up that idea in the next meeting and get a Brownie point!

I agree, it’s my mostest favorite knife. I missed getting it’s bigger brother 110 but this 112 is arguably the best ever made. 6E83F352-8A5F-4B6E-9645-1B5CBFA7920C.jpeg

I got one. Have never had a hollow grind kitchen knife before. Will see how it goes. Seems like the shoulder may be an issue - will have to see. The steel is ok for a kitchen knife. Buck uses 154CM, and that would have been preferred for me.

I already have too many kitchen knives but wanted to see how this one cuts.
