Gulf Coast assistance - Part Deux

Paul,

You're wonderful and in this case make my pledge $75.00 so Bill can be back in (and, buying the Scotch!!). :p

Out of curiosity Sheathmaker, can you make sheath in Sting Ray?

And the other problem that I am having is I don't have that many knives that
are worth th $75 dollar sheath! I might end up with a $75 dollar sheath on a
$50 dollar knife. But if you can do one in rayskin, I will donate $75 dollars.

( I can't believe I just did that, Del, can you email me a scotch? :p )

ROFLMAO

Now you will need an Schrade IXL Large stockman or 858OT to put in that sheath!!

Oh...Oh...

I just can't stand it...the peer pressure...it's not fair...make it stop!!!

I, I, I feel as though I'm going to......

FOLD!!!

OK, OK.....mark me down for a YARD ($100).

Bill

P. S.
There was a folder named the El Lobo sold at one time by a knife marketing company...alas, it wasn't a Schrade.

I was thinking a push knife that I have would look great with a sheath like
that. I can't afford a J.Neilson model so I will have to make my own.

And El Lobo, do you mean the whole 9 yards? ($900) :D

A most excellent reminder Sheathmaker. I am still in touch with volunteers from Tennessee who are working in shelters in Mississippi and Louisianna. Many are worn out and rotating back home to be replaced by a second wave. Five mobile homes donated by a dealer in Nashville passed me on the Interstate headed south with "Relief Home" signs on the sides. Fedex is sending a friend to be helo-dropped on top of a skyscraper in N.O. to set up a repeater station and generator for rescue communications. The need is still great. Every dollar we can send will help.

Fixer; I can and would do Ray skin, but I don't have any. I know I said I wouldn't put any limits on the sheaths, but with the kind permission of the forum I'd like very much to limit it to what I have on hand if possible. Based on the assumption that this would be okay, the choices for inlays are: Rattle Snake, Alligator, Black, Brown, Peanut Butter, Lizard, Brown, Black, burgandy,
Ostrich, Brown, Peanut butter. and Deer skin same color as the lining (it looks pretty good) Some of the posted sheaths (Black and turquoise) have the inlay and lining out of the same leather. I hope this is okay.

Paul

My heart isn't set on rayskin, I would like the same sort of "flat+textured"
look that ray provides. Would lizard or black snake work as well?

If not, then I will review what has been posted, after all this is a charity
event. Ya know?

Now about gold leaf inlay........ :D

Reasonable limits are well expected Paul. But... if a person made an exotic material request and could provide that exotic material? Say if I wanted a mammoth ivory disc insert in mine and provided it? Or bearskin?

Codger
(am I complicating matters too much?)

OK OK OK
One of my young people has a Birthday coming up soon.
$25 on the WR1 please Codger

Whether Paul can do rayskin or not bump my pledge to $50. Sept 12th is only
a few days away, I am sure that I will raise again before then.

and Del make that a double scotch, with a glass of cold water and a zantac
nearby if you please.

Now you guys are startin' to cook! Let's see I've got a question to answer. I've got Black lizard and also Black small tile Alligator, either of which should give the look you want on that Folder. Now one word from experience. Large inlays on smaller sheaths (ie Folders) BAD, smaller inlays on these same sheaths GOOD. It has to do with the center fold line area on pouches. Refer to the posted examples with the diamonds. The full inlay has a tendency to want to roll up at the bend curve. Now ask me what time it is and I'll tell how to build a watch.

Paul

PS: Codger I can inlay anything you can send me, but it some cases it had better be a damned big sheath.

fixer,
27 feet of ammo in my hands is a scary thought.
Though I would like to go to the moon, $100 may be my best effort here.

Del,
I may still buy you A scotch.....but, we'll have to drink (or is that crink?) it out of the brown bag, out in the parking lot, now. ;)

Hey,
Maybe LT will send us some moonshine made out of those beans. There is still time. :D

Keep it going folks....those knives look really, really nice. He, He... :D ... Oops!... I mean

Bill

Those sheaths are much to nice to not have a real nice knife to put into them so here is my donation this is a Schrade PH-2 IN GENUINE stag. The donater can have there choice of brown or black original sheath. Yes I have an original box for all the box collectors. That will I guess authenticate it. Knife is in unused old stock condition look at the stag one side is a bit lighter than the other. Codger you apparently are at the helm so all I need is to know who to send it to at the end. If someone has the scratch to get the sheath and the knife they will have a really unique display or user. LT

Thankyou Rich. I will indeed forward the shipping address to you at the end. Once again, your donation to this Effort is greatly appreciated! One of the properties of sambar stag is that each piece is unique, and slight color variations on a knife are quite usual with this, or almost any natural material.

Lobo, here is your chance to get a rare Schrade fixed blade with all the original trappings. Yes, you may have to give up crinking for a while, or at least get a cheaper brown bag, but just imagine yourself strutting down main street with this knife in a Long sheath. I bet he could make a sheath that showcases the stag handle, adding to the swagger appeal. Afterall, you and I live in one of the few locals in America where a person can still openly carry a sheathed knife. Dang, I wonder if I could sell my '67 Ford F-100 before Monday?
