I'm sitting here and my heart is going out to those unfortunate folks who have had their hearts turned upside down.
No home, no jobs, no clothes and maybe, seemingly no hope!
I have 3 NIB (pre-2004) Schrade 8OT and 3 NIB (pre-2004) Uncle Henry 897UH (my favourite) knives that I'm putting up here.
The 3 highest donations (one knife per person please) with the individuals making the donations to either the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army and advising me of the donation will get each a knife (let me know what model bearing in mind there's only 3 of each model). The 3 highest donations on each model will have a knife shipped to them via Canada Post/USPS.
Say closing Wednesday evening at 11:00 PM EST?
I'll pay the shipping to you.
I've asked Larry to post a photo.

i'll put up $10, thats about all I can afford right now :( :(. I'd put up more if I could :( :( . Really sad, what is happening to these poor people. I hope the help of the people and the government will help rebuild the peoples lives, But nothing can patch the pain in wich they have felt.

For the non-Schradophiles, the three knives on the left are the Old Timer 8OT, a Stockman 4" long, and the three knives on the right are the Uncle Henry 897UH a Stockman 3 1/2" long.

Seeing as how young Muskie has no 897 to call his own, and he can only afford to bid $10 on a knife, I'll see his ten, making his bid $20 for 897UH #1. Anyone else? Can we make that #1 a $30, $40 dollar donation? This one is MM's bid.

hey codger,
Don't exactly understand how your idea??? care to explain it to me? I'm kinda confused. :D
take care

I'll lay down 20 dollars towards either of the remaining choices.

(If a UH or a Timer is left I bid 20 dollars on either) so 20 dollars is going
to the Red Cross or the Salvation Army either way.

I'll throw in $10 as well. on muskrat_man's 897UH. so. MM's bid#1: $40.

I don't know you but you guys are great.

Easy Muskrat man. You bid $10, I gave you $10 so your bid is $20, Larry gave you $10 so your bid is $30, and roughedges gave you $10 so your opening bid on 897UH is $40.00. If no one bids against you, you win the knife and we all send in our donations. If someone tops your bid on 897#1, you can bid on #2. So far, only one more knife has been bid on. Maybe Larry can put numbers on the pics to help keep it straight? Is that too much trouble Larry?

okie dokie,
So if noone tops $40 we all send our money in and I recieve the knife in return for the donation?
Thanks
MM

Bill,

Thank you so much for the $50.00 donation to the Salvation Army for a 897UH

So far, there are 3 donations in total (some are "helping" towards a knife for a wonderful young man!).

Come on folks :-))))

Fixer, yes it does
your donation pledge is one of the 3
a lot of the others were helping a nice young man raise his pledge

Del has a great idea here. His heart is in the right place and he is putting his Schrades where his heart is. There is no way I can top his contribution, but I can do my part. When his knives are all donated to the highest donors, I will put up for bids this knife.....

It is a new in the box Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation WR1 Water Rat Dive Knife gift set with sheath and flashlight. The blade is mirror polished Schrade+ stainless with the RMEF etch. This knife has already been retailed once, so RMEF has received a donation from it. Can we get a bigger donation for hurricane relief? It is rumored that Mike Nelson himself designed and used this Schrade knife pattern on an elk hunt, but research has yet to bear this out. Auction for this limited edition knife set will not start until Del's donation is completed.

Codger (yes, of course it is a FIXED blade!)

Damn Codger, wish I knew how to swim - it is too big for my bathtub with me in it too!!

My thought was if there were any left than there is always a 20 dollar
bid on one of the knives. One of the (6) knives. And yes I will defend this
bid.

Tomorrow evening I will try to post a summary of where things stand.

I'll post the names of the top three making or pledging a donation under each model (if I can, as I'm not the computer whiz Larry is).

The elk, or the knife? Actually, the knife is smaller than it looks, 7 3/8 overall with a partially serrated 3 3/16" blade. Bathtub sized. LOOK OUT RUBBER DUCKIE!!!

Codger :D
