Gun Picture Thread

Aside from his bogus attitude, I'm not certain that I agree with his analysis that you could still easily change this to full auto. I'm not certain that he fully understood what he was looking at.

I think the fella in the video in the post below had a better understanding of what he was looking at:
Yeah, Mrgunsngear is alright. He has connections. I must have missed that video.

I think it would be funny if Temu came out for a switch for the new V models before dealers even got them. The changes aren’t radical, so I think it’s very likely that’s it’s doable.

The reinforcement on the rear of the grip and the 2 metal tabs by the firing pin channel look easily defeated with a dremel. But unless you’re a hood rat, who would do this to their pistol?

How many pound recoil spring are you running in your 5” 1911s, for those that have them? Mine is kinked, still runs fine, but the kink bothers my OCD and I’m not sure what caused it. Factory is 16 lb, but thinking of moving up to 17 lb for the rare occasion I shoot defensive loads out of it.

Do you any of your springs have a kink, or are not straight? Was wondering if this was a thing with 1911s.

None of mine are kinked, and all of mine have the standard GI recoil setup. I use springs from Wolff or Wilson Combat. 👍
Well, I think mine got kinked when I was disassembling and forgot to rotate the barrel bushing out of the way, and pulled the slide back. You live and you learn I guess. At least I haven’t put the idiot scratch on my gun yet. Mine is the GI setup as well n

If you don’t have one.
I recommend a Wilson shock buff pad for the guide rod. I replace them every 500-1000 rounds.
I’ve heard good and bad things about those shock buffs. Going up in spring weight would essentially do the same thing? Slow the mass of the slide down during recoil, so it doesn’t slam into your frame as hard?
