Gun Picture Thread

I personally found that a shock buff & a stock 1911 spring really negates all of the controversy of which spring to move to & gives you the option to shoot whatever .45 ACP ammo is in front of you without stressing about damaging your pistol.
Well, I went the spring route. I got some in today and dropped the 17 lb into my gun. It feels a bit stiffer than the factory spring, which is what I wanted. The factory spring always felt kinda weak to me. True test will be shooting some ball and defensive ammo through it tomorrow.

I know 1911A1 lovers that do both…

I personally feel that if a Mozambique of 230 ball doesn’t change their opinion. No other .45 ACP would!

239 gr ball has been doing the job for a long times. If you can improve on that, why not. Federal HST is almost an inch in diameter when fully expanded. That’s a lot of energy transfer to your target, more than ball piercing a hole right through you. Just google .45 HST on YouTube and you’ll see for yourself!

I use to carry Winchester Silver Tips & Corbon .45 acp back in the 80-90’s.

Those two loads are “Old School “ these days! Lolz.
Jonny I just reached a point where I’ve shot enough 230 ball that I’m content with knowing where there going on my target. My days of searching for the perfect round to drop Godzilla have passed!
YMMV

My range day is tomorrow morning. It’s always a chore to figure out what you’re gonna bring!
I often have that same dilemma, though recently is has been an easy decision for me to make. I need to get a lot of trigger time in on my latest acquisition, so my last few trips have only included the new Shield. I am finally getting used to the mushy trigger, and finding the dot. This thing is a few firsts for me, my first sticker fired 9mm and my first red dot. I put another 200 rounds downrange Sunday morning, closing in on 1000 rounds. I bought a few boxes of 147 grain flat nose Blazer Brass and had three failure to feeds, looks like the cartridges got hung up on the feed ramp. A quick tap and rack and she was right back in business, but it's still a bit concerning for a gun I am planning on carrying.
