Gun Picture Thread

Held a 19 today. Felt a lot better than previous generations. The local spot got in 3 19s, 3 17s, and 3 45's. All of them were sold except 1 45. I decided to go ahead and nab this one.
The new Glocks do feel nice in hand. Give us a range report when you get a chance. Curious about the trigger breaking closer to the rear.

I was able to take the 17 to the indoor range Sunday. Shot around 50 rounds through it. I didn’t have a ton of time but was near the range and had my stuff so I dropped in.

The gun shot great. Felt like a Glock overall but I noticed my grip felt more natural. I ride a Glock really high and have to adjust my grip to not get bit. Not so with the Gen 6. Everything just felt right.

A Ruger Standard was my first pistol. Bought it in '69.
Still have it. The blue is worn from the barrel in a lot of places. This is the "good side".

When I bought my first Glock 9mm and shot it awful I knew I needed to get a 22 and figure out handgun fundamentals. Ruger Mark IV 22/45 was purchased and saved the day. With just a few range trips, I was able to shoot the Glock significantly better.

Speaking of range. I’m wanting to down size my range bag. I’m carrying a huge bag right now and not utilizing the majority of it. What are y’all doing for a bag?

I have a range bag and it’s loaded with rifle and handgun stuff. It got tiring to lug around, so I started throwing my handgun stuff into a 50 cal ammo can. For rifle/shotgun days, I grab my range bag. For handgun days, I grab my ammo can.

Yea. That’s exactly where I am as well. I shoot my handguns 80% of the time but I’m carrying a bag with everything in it. I don’t wanna have to unpack and repack the bag.

I hadn’t thought of the ammo can. Might give that a go before I buy a smaller bag.

My bag is used for the pistol or pistols, ear muffs and the like. Ammo is carried in a plastic equivalent to a 50 cal ammo can. Makes it easier on the shoulder without the weight on the shoulder strap

Lots of memories in that faded blue.
A friend’s father had two of them. Let us shoot them around the farm, in high school. I bought my first Mark two shortly there after, and have owned some version of it ever since. A lot of good times have been had with Mark series pistols.

The Ruger MKII gave me fits trying to put back together.
Tell me about it! I literally sold my MKIII for that same reason (and I can take apart/re-assemble quite literally all my other guns blindfolded), since I needed to clean that .22 more than usual since lead and I usually shoot it suppressed. The IV is SO awesome just for it's simple break-down - that's what I have now.

I hear IV is much easier to disassemble and reassemble. I sold off the mkII long ago. Didn’t really care for .22 in a pistol.

IV is much easier to work on. I don't shoot my 22 much anymore but keep it for when my wife or kids go to the range with me. They have a blast with it.
