At the request of Gurkha Berserka for a catch all thread for gun talk. Here it is. I think it is a great idea! This way we wont jack up others threads when we drift off into space like we do so well:D Ill start off by a shot of my fairly newly inherited scattergun. It was actually passed down to my brother and since he is a city boy exec. now traveling all the time he passed it on to his country boy brother. I have no problem with that. Its a 1956 Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight 12 gauge. Featherlight it is.

See im already drifting. I think we were talking about Glocks in the other thread! I hunted many of squirrel and deer with my brother but this was his gun. I had a double barrel 12 gauge (Savage Arms?) I used which I liked a lot. Nothing like pulling both triggers at the same time snapping it open and snagging both spent shells out with your fingernails at the same time and reloading and snapping it shut again ready to go. I got pretty dang fast trying to keep up with my brothers Ithaca pump. I wonder if he put the plug back in?

From what i understand they machined the entire receiver from a sloid block of steel and always engraved this hunting scene on both sides.

My gun, my knife, and my axe! Oh...I forgot my 03A3 30-06 (Work in progress) Thanks to JW for the new stock:thumbup: and a Glock 30. Thats about it. Thats all im made of. Theres still a Benjamin pump pellet rifle, 4-10 shotgun, and .22 LR at large in the family somewhere i cant locate. My brothers and sisters wont cooperate in finding them but ill eventually get to the bottom of it.

That Ithica is really cool! I'd heard about them before, first time I looked it up. As a left handed shooter (Long guns, pistols I'm ambi) I appreciate a gun that works both ways.

last picture wins the internet, thar is a shine in that debils eye-- I will post some of my guns asap, camera is fritz but I want to share :D

When i was 16 I got hit in the eye with a rock (horseplay) and later developed a cataract and after that i was legally blind in my right eye. Made it really hard to go from shooting from one eye changing to the other. I later learned to shoot a pistol right handed but with my left eye dominant because it was the only one I had. I later had surgery to correct it but still shoot a pistol with left eye dominant. Thats easy enough to switch back and forth with a pistol (though I dont) but with a long gun it aint that easy. I can now see better with my right eye so I shoot long guns with my right and pistols with my left. Sounds confusing but imagine having to change shooting habits from one eye to the other.

Gehazi: My camera is cell phone so pardon my crappy photos, white arse legs and river shorts. Post whatever you want hijack anything goes long as it dont make more work for Karda;)

I will post some toys as well. I am a Glock man all the way but do like anything that goes bang. I have a very nice Daniels Defense AR and in the process of building a nice hog rifle in 300 blackout. Pics to come later.

I had a little rock horseplay as a kid too. Missed my eyes and took it in the mouth. That was the start of very few teeth up top for ole bawanna.

I'll look for some gun pics.

Gangster

Wall hangers that all shoot.

Couple lever guns. Cowboy up!

Daily carry with some hippo teeth. Made some grips out of the teeth. Tough stuff.

Hippo Tooth grips

My little pal at National Night Out a few years back. Actually holding her up, her little legs couldn't support the weight of that SWAT vest.

My 3 Kahrs, don't take up much room in the garage.

That's a start. Thank goodness I had pictures, all I have left is the memories. Flash flood last year took em all. Now all I got is my Roy Rogers autographed Daisy Red Ryder. Still painful to think about it.
I'm working on building a new collection but it's a slow process.

Dang, glad you were able to adjust so well and that things are much better now.

I was born blind in my right eye. Actually, my right eye is underdeveloped and there's probably no signal to my right optic nerve. Assuming that I have an optic nerve. No signal at all on the right side. But, I'm right handed. Depth perception can be tricky at night or when I'm not feeling well, like.

Right or left for pistol and lefty for rifles. Got a Lever action .22 Henry model H001T (Octagon barrel, black receiver). It's a great shooting gun and lefty friendly. I can spend hours at the range plinking away with it. Got a Ruger Single Six that I frequently shoot at the same time. Got the Ruger First, the Henry was a few guns later. Great pair!

:eek:That Barong! Its singin alright. Its the end of the world as we know it! and I feel fine!

Awesome Ithica Ndog. Those things just keep chugging along year after year as long as you take decent care of em. And that Last pic. The hat, The Khuk, The Shotgun and that expression. I really don't think a better picture could exist. I agree with Gehazi, You win the internet.

Bawanna, I could spend months happily cataloging your room. Be like a great archealogical dig, identifying and cataloging everything. Would take weeks just working on those lever actions alone cause I would have to test fire each one over and over and...

Awesome thread!!! Love the shotgun Ndog. I hear you on firing double barrels at the same time. When I was younger I witnessed some foolish range Rambo fire a 10gauge double trigger at the same time. I link he had 3.5in mag loads or something ridiculous like that lol. I've been waiting for this thread. I am going to take some pictures of my 1911 upgrade along with old and new part pics. Truth be told my gun buying has slowed since my kukri fascination is in full bloom.

Love the pictures Bawanna buddy. Those are some sweet military rifles on the rack. The sks has always been a super affordable truck gun. I am in awe of your 12ga lever action... I love seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger on his Harley shooting at the 18 wheeler in T2. My favorite lever gun has always been the Winchester 1886. Love the sig handguns too. Philll's Sig is super light weight. I will get to work taking pictures

Here is my gaggle of glocks 20 & 21 on the left (the 21 is now a gen 4 like the rest) on the right top to bottom is my 17, 19 & 26. The 20 my pride and joy is on my hunting/scouting kit, the 17 is for my SHTF rig, I carry the 21 on duty backed up by the 26 and the 19 off duty backed up with the 26. Anymore glock fans? Cheers

I Love a good 10mm Nemesis, glad to see others enjoying that round. Quick question. Why change to the .45 on duty instead of staying with the 10mm? Is it a requirement or about ammo acquisition?

Not a Glock fan, as I was mentioning in another post, they just don't feel right for me. But, I'm a diehard find what works for you and buy the heck out of it. So glad for folks that do like em that they come in every flavor imaginable now they added the 42. Gives you a lot of flexibility around picking the right size/caliber for the situation without changing sight picture and handling much at all.

The Glock 20 is also my favorite model as well. The 10mm will always be my favorite pistol caliber with .45acp close behind. 200gr @ 1200fps was the original Norma load and its a laser beam with its penetration ability. The 135gr can get up to 1550fps... That's like having a carbine on your hip. I shoot 100 yard 8inch steel plates for fun with my SW1006 all the time. It approaches 41 magnum ballistics out of an auto pistol.

Shavru, the 10mm is my personal weapon. The department has used 45 forever, before I was born much less worked there. The 21 in the picture is a gen 3 and we recently traded up to gen 4s. I was able to have chief seriously look at the 10mm when we traded. Ultimately it was the fact that we have thousands of rounds of 45 ammo and the 10mm was tough to acquire and it would have been a big eexpense and hassle to get the amount of ammo we needed to start carrying 10mm so ammo acquisition is what kept us from changing to 10mm

Phillll that JW Barong just looks so sweet. I love the hamon and the clean lines of his work style. I think my favorite knife these days is my Scorpion he made for me. With a 1911 under my arm, my BUG at the small of my back or in my pocket depending on clothing, my HI IBBB or the Scorpion on my hip and my cane sword in my hand. I think I probably clank when I walk but I am prepared to walk around that looney toon city of Seattle.

Speaking of BUGs, Who else carries a backup gun? And what do you carry? My usual is a PPK that I love. Hubby on the other hand considers it his summer carry. Since the PPKs made by S&W have been so lousy with spots on the last 5 I looked at so rough it looked like it was gouged out by a guy with a hammer and chisel, not a CnC machine and we are talking about the feed ramp not some random spot on the frame. so I have been looking at Kahr CW380s and Kel-Tec P3-ATs. Now that Walther has broken up with S&W I don't know if the quality will go back up to the standards of the German made PPKs or not. Any thoughts on what I should consider? Or maybe other options I might have overlooked?

I suspected it was something like that Nemesis. With so many departments these days are going to .40 and with your duty gun being .45 I wasn't sure if maybe you were allowed to carry your choice of round. Some agencies I have dealt with in the past have guidelines but you choose your own from the list. Others issue THE department gun chosen for everyone by the head mucks. It is always interesting to hear the variations :)

I carry a PPK as backup too. In SF Bay Area and in the surrounding urban areas, that may be all I carry. If going somewhere when/where I know it can get a little dicey, I'll carry my Sig P226.

I also EDC a Spyderco Delica 4 ZDP-189, and a CS Counter Point II. I also have Large CS Recon 1's, CS SRK's, and a 15" HI Khuk, in each of my vehicles, to swap my EDC's when needed for a bigger folder, or fixed blade, and the khuks for emergencies.
