This might be off topic, if so my apologies.. Although, I promise to include pics w/ an XM in the future
Anyway, I'm going to build an SBR - looking to go the form 1 route, but never done it before. Anyone here have any hints/tips? I've been/will be doing other research but I like/trust you guys

I already have an NFA trust set up..
Ok, I got it all figured out

So, here's some pics of my growing AR family (Wharnies included for relevance

):
So, I chose to go the form 1 route for my SBR by "building" one. So, I picked up this Noveske 11.5" upper and Spike's Tactical lower that will be registered as the SBR. Since I did it this way I was able to bring the upper home today, just can't legally put it on the lower.. (so I won't). I also put money down on a Gemtec G5 suppressor, which I do have to go the Form 4 route so it'll stay in the store until I get the tax stamp back - hopefully in less than the 15 months ATF is now estimating (gun store guy is saying hopefully more like 10 months, we'll see). But, since I'm doing the Form-1 for the SBR online, hopefully that one will only take 6 months or so..
So, I also HAD to buy the Noveske Afghan 14.5" (w/ pinned and welded flash hider for a legal 16" OAL) upper. That was my compromise for the day

My wonderful wife has agreed to start shooting 3-gun with me (and she will probably kick my butt) on the condition that she gets her OWN AR (you know because it'll be sighted in differently, optics, she's a lefty (although has always run right-handed weapons since they're easier to come by down range), etc, etc..) So, we had been looking at this really nice 16" LWRC IC for her. Then, I got the brilliant (to me anyway) idea that we could get TWO uppers and the lower for just a "little bit" more than the full LWRC rifle (just ignore that I still need to pick up optics, BUIS, a vertical grip, different stock, and few other odd and ends to set up the new one just right...). So, she'll get "her" AR and I'll get a new lower and SBR upper. Probably pick up another, most likely Noveske, lower to make hers once I get the tax stamp for this lower..
