Being able to throw the thing on the fire is worth the +$14 in my mind. I am not a chemist and it's true even taking a breath of air in your home has some ill effects. I am just guessing that there is more to this than a Nalgene marketing campaign. Hopefully someone with better info will chime in. I am typing this whilst drinking from a plastic Aquafina water bottle and a Dixie cup. ;)
 
Actually, I bought two of the MSR titanium pots for $34 each. They aren't cups but .85 mL pots with lids. Hey, that's "old school" too (metal and all). Actually, the Lexan Nalgenes pre-date the SS Guyots so they're really old school...

No worries in any event, we're just shootin' the shit.
