Gym shorts and knives

That's not what I said. IMHO, it's no one's business why the OP wants a knife in the gym, if in fact he does. I didn't accuse you of wanting to take people's knives and guns away. I only said those are the type of questions people who do ask and the we, you included, shouldn't. If we're being honest most of us don't NEED to carry a knife. But that's our choice and we shouldn't have to justify it. The OP asked a question and we shouldn't judge his need or want. We should only offer help and advice. Sorry if I offended you. That was not my intent.

No worries. No offence taken. IMHO there are no questions we should not ask. In any event, interesting thread.

Look, I'm new around here but this seems to be the wrong attitude. I'm not calling you out but it's really a personal decision whether or not to carry a knife and where. The people that want to take our knives (and guns) ask those kind of questions. We shouldn't.

/soapbox off

I wear gym shorts a lot around the house and to the store or gas station. I don't carry a knife when I do. I have a few in my Jeep. I often don't carry a knife even when I'm in jeans or cargo shorts. Same reason. If I'm going out on a hike or something, then I'll carry one. Keeping one in the vehicle or in your bag might be better. I agree, gym shorts don't carry the weight well.

Why? What's wrong with discussing topics in a discussion forum? As long as things are calm and respectful, no need to "not ask about those things", especially when someone is bringing them up for the purpose of discussion.

One of my favorite knives, any time it gets dull I change blade for .05$. Light and small.

In my gym shorts this morning.

Yeah, I put a big pickle in my gym shorts some days too. Really impresses the gals on the treadmill. ;)

That Gerber EAB is a decent razor knife. They have one called the Vital Razor which is nice with replaceable blades, but they want like $40 for the thing. Way better choices at that price point in my opinion.

You all do realize that people do wear gym shorts even if not in a gym. [emoji33] It's my attire of choice when at the house and even going to the store occasionally. I've carried knives clipped in the waistband, clipped in the pocket, down in the pocket, etc. I either carry now down in the pocket or in my pocket organizer along with my light and multitool. I do not carry a knife to the gym though as I never have a utility need for one. For self defense, a firearm is much preferred.

That is funny, my wife looked at the screen when I was scrolling through the thread and seen the peanut butter and pickles and said "is he pregnant " LOL
Peanut butter and pickles? Last time I saw that, my wife was pregnant.

Had this happen to me. I almost never take valuable ins with me. But one day I was running late and left my stuff in my pockets..etc.. Lost over $1500 worth of stuff, between cycling shoes, discontinued knife, discontinued Oakleys, limited edition fountain pen.

Plus one on the Dragonfly (Seki-City ZDP-189 natch)
I would add that some shorts have a draw string or thinnish nylon belt and that will help if you find the need to haul with your Sebenza. :p
