Pry Bar part 1

I picked up an old small freight pallet today, for a first test of the mini-pry bar.

The first few shots are the beginning of getting the hang of holding onto the knife and working the pry bar in under the wood.

TO get any decent leverage, you need to use the sheath as sort of a handle, but I was REALLY concerned about it slipping off, so I stopped and reworked the lanyard, so that the knife was tied into the sheath to prevent slipping.

I went back to work and after about 4 minutes total, I had separated a corner joint.

The pry bar works, I think it's important to keep it's overall size in mind though. Obviously you are not going to tear down a wall with it, but I see it being very useful for those little things that we "might" be tempted to use the blade tip for, and thereby saving us from a broken tip.

It's also intended as a scrapper and I can see it would be fine, I also see it's use as a screwdriver tip for standard and even some Philips head screws.

Lots of possibilities for this feature!

would you test the "pry bar" as a skull crusher please, maybe a RP might volunteer :).
Thanks for the review very nice of nice to test it. I found out that the most important part of the knife works, essential for survival : the bottle opener.

Great stuff so far.

This one wasn't on my radar before but now I'm on the hunt...

Can you do an in-hand shot so I can get some idea of the size please?

Thanks,

B

Great review, Bear Claw. Some folks emailed us when this concept first came out and said they wouldn't like the pry bar because it will rub the pinky finger or hang on gear. After testing one of the for a while I really like the pry bar feature for a "travel" and last-ditch survival knife. That Coca Cola stills looks good!

Great Review ,I was glad to see you use the sheath over the blade when using the Prybar ,if not you could of gave us Lefties a bad rap :D

For sure, with the factory edge on this thing, it is NOT a knife you would want to have an "oops" with.

Which reminds me, in this review I never mentioned that before. The factory edge is a seriously wicked hair popper!!!
