Had the sheeple experience

I'm with the educate the co-workers school. I'm sure many collect something or another and can relate to a fascination with a well made tool. Some may even catch the fever.
Then try educating one of them and see what happens. Just calling them buttheads here is like just calling them sheeple here, or blaming "hollywood."

You're a smart guy, you are into knives, no retreat, no surrender!

Unfortunately , some people fundamentally believe that humans can not be trusted to have potential weapons . Weirdly , they are often supposedly "humanists " . Compromise with such a viewpoint is counterproductive .

People who give subtly offensive remarks about knife hobbyism and make "stabby motions" even with small pocket knives should perhaps think why they do so.

I am grateful to work in an environment where it is not only acceptable to carry and use ones' blade of choice, but you are teased mercilessly if you need to borrow a blade because you failed to carry your own. Our culture is so blade-centered our door prizes at last year's Christmas Party was an ESEE 6, this year is a Snow and Nealley Hudson Bay.

This is my experience also. Something on a keychain in the office raises a lot less ire.
This is why I always carry an Alox SAK. Those are the only things I'll let people use. And I don't open it for them. I think people tend to freak out less if they open it themselves.

Last resort is my keychain Spyderco Ladybug and Leatherman Style. Usually non-scary due to the presence of keys.

Luckily I work at a company where carrying a knife is not a big deal. One of the top managers that makes the big money always has a Leatherman on his belt and a folder clipped to his pocket.

I actually bought this vintage CS Voyager from one of my co-workers.

You might not scare the sheeple if you just get a real lamb foot instead. The slight distal taper (I would say profile taper) could put them at ease.

Anytime you "whip" something out in public, people are going to take issue with it.;)

If that thing you whip out is a knife, then you make yourself look like a moron. A moron with a knife!

If you have one side of an argument, you can be guaranteed there is someone on the other side. Yin and Yang thing.
Not everyone fits in a nice neat little box..much like this thread and some of the posters in it.

Stickin' a fork in it.
