Had to happen, 1st Spyderco

Congratulations on your first. My first was the original Delica with the molded clip, bought soon after they were introduced. Went right out and lost it. Replaced it with serrated Endura and carried it for a decade or more. Still carrying Spydercos these days--Gayle Bradley, Centofante 3, Dragonfly, Stretch, etc.

The Tenacious and Ambitious were my first two knives from Spyderco. I didn't get into spydies till got the Caly 3.5 super blue and the PM2 20cp. Now I only buy spydies.

My first was a Byrd Cara2. Then a DigiCamo PM2. Lost the PM2 for a few days and freaked out and sold it to my brother swearing I'd never carry $100+ knife again. Then bought two USA made Kershaws for a few weeks and craved Spyderco again. Just bought a blacked out Tenacious and Endura4 to add to my EDC.

My first was a Wegner. Found it at a thrift store for 12 bucks. Looking up info about it led me to this forum where I traded it for my first custom bushcraft knife (Mark Wohlwend), thereby creating the monster that I am today.

My first Spyderco was a TERZUOLA , the year was 2000, the occasion was a week hike with my 13 year old son .
A S&W 9 mm gun I had just broke down and I needed some safety net for being out there in the wild with the kid. In a mens gifts store I found a knives stand, it took an hour and a half to scrutinize them all, and to end it I chose the Spyderco TERZUOLA. I have carried that knife for the next 10 years 24/7 (sleeping with it clipped to my underwear).A true EDC.
Originally it was partially serrated, later on I changed the edge: no serration and shaved metal to form a hollow grind. The metal is cpm440v. No metal reenforcement under the G10 scales.
I don't carry it anymore since I got myself a nice collection of newer Spyderco knives including PM2,lots of Dragonfly 2 versions and so on.
Bob TERZUOLA will be forever my legendary "first spidy"

If there's a burglar at home you pretend sleeping.
If he reaches your bed, you cut him [emoji48]

If I hear a burglar he better be ready for a load of 00 buckshot. Never bring a knife to a gun fight. Back on topic.....

My first was a delica 4 in vg10. It's a great knife, but after reading on the forum I had to pick up the PM2.. Thanks guys

My first Spyderco was a Native (I believe series 1) given to me in 1999 for my birthday.

Delica in 1995 I think. I didn't even realize it was a quality knife... I still have that knife today. It's in one of my wifes bags. I've gone through alot of knives in the last 5 years learning what I like. A fully serrated Endura and a custom griptilian were the only survivors. I would've sold the grip if I could've recouped my money. A fullsize Sebenza and an umnumzaan were passed along fwiw...

In 2012 I won a graduate student teaching award which came with a check for juuuuust enough money for a temperance 2. That's a knife that I will definitely never sell.

Great stories guys, thanks.
I just remembered a couple of weeks ago I picked up another Spyderco, a Viele 2, no box though. Hell I've never even heard of it. Pristine condition, I don't think the guy ever used it. My goodness what a smooth knife. AND HANDSOME! I should post a picture of it, gorgeous.
