i am trying my best to avoid having a vision of a 12" braided beard & moustache...nope, don't want to go there.

Now Eric could probably donate his beard, as when it is stretched out it's at least 12" long...........The Vikings used to braid their beards.......split them down the middle and braided each side. I keep waiting to see a modern guy do that, but I could never talk Eric into it and well, none of the other long beards I knew either.

I keep mine long for a couple of reasons. First: laziness. Seems like long hair is lower-maintenance than short hair -- put it up and forget about it most days, cut it myself with a pair of dressmaking shears 2-3 times a year (I just can't tolerate the idea of paying someone twenty bucks (or whatever haircuts go for nowadays) to cut in a straight line).

Second: it makes me look bigger*.
