Hair cutting scissors sharpening help

Yep did just that. Didn't created any burrs just refined on 4k 8k and the stopped on balsa with. 25 mícron diamond then horse but. Stropping was done on 45 degrees following the factory angle on the edge and the flat on the other side. Mirror shine on the blade. He just asked to sharpen all the scissors on the salloon it's about 120 charging 60 bucks each as its very delicate work is enough to buy 3 konosuke blades I have my eyes on it and put some in my pocket. Not bad at all

I have done several pairs of these for local salon girls also, they really aren't that difficult if you ask me. Obviously you want to keep the original geometry as closely as possible, and don't go too fine on the grit or hair will tend to push out, sliding along the edge rather than gripping and cutting. I totally disagree with the comment that sharpening (straight) razors is easier though - the shears don't have to be comfortable against skin!

For some styling methods you need edges refined to near-straight razor levels. When properly sharp you should be able to slide the blades through hair and have it cleanly cut it without tugging.

Wow! What a range of info! Offhand, this info seems VERY different from the regular blade sharpening info here. It seems there's a lot of voodoo here, also quite a bit of high level esoterica, also a smidgen of "just cut some sandpaper and they'll be as good as new!" Is there any plain english SOP out there? Maybe mentioning brands and models even. I'm interesting in resharpening my mom's plain-but-nice hair scissors. Thanks!
