Ya you’re right ... I don’t really care

I frequent this “porch” because of the extensive information that has been accumulated over the years and for the staggeringly vast knowledge that is frequently displayed here on a daily basis. And for the almost unfailing courtesy and friendships that develop, especially with those newcomers here.

I am an old fart with years of knife experience but not a lot with traditional ones. I am always learning and my sometimes ignorant questions are usually treated with courtesy and useful information. For me to respond otherwise would certainly curtail my interactions here.

I too agree that it is both kind and appropriate for a member to go to the time and effort to find and post links to previous discussions for those interested enough to follow up.

I suggest that your cavalier and dismissive response won’t do you much good.

I would like to see you stick around here and contribute to the discussions.

Mayo...I’m not being dismissive. While adding to the conversation, I was told not ask questions and use the search bar for answers. So I replied.

If that’s the case then whoever told you that should re-evaluate their approach. That kind of response isn’t either helpful or courteous. I try to visualize my participation here as actually sitting on a porch talkin’ about knives. Sorry that happened.

Same here...if I came across as dismissive that’s my fault...just having conversations
