Mizuno Blue 2 Honyaki Gyuto, polished it back to almost full mirror and then etched with vinegar/lemon juice and nagui to bring the hamon out

In light of recent posts here in Custom and Handmade Knives, I thought I would resurrect this thread with some new pictures.

I enjoy every type of hamon, from relatively plain straight lines, to wavy lines, to outrageous wavy lines. There are many ways to achieve the hamon effect and sometimes they can make a knife a true work of art.

One of my better ones this year. It's a little higher than I like, but it's done aiming for a more traditional look. Thin knives are a challenge, as they quench so quickly. W2 that started as 1/8", but thinned to 3/32", with a mild distal taper. 70/30 offset for a right handed user, full flat on the left, and convex on the right.

I'm curious as to Steven's take on this.

I've got a great clayless hamon on a tanto I've been working on between other projects. I need to get around to a proper light box as I can't capture it even remotely well the way I'm currently taking pics, which is pretty lousy.
 
This is probably the best on I've done to date. W2 as well. Same dimensions and grind as the knife above. It's a popular combo for me.

as a relatively new knife maker (less than 3 years)... I am now addicted to making hamon's
Some kitchen knives I have had success with...
