Handle material

David, you got that Bura Tarwar?! Great snag! It's amazing and I'd love some more pictures.....

Good job George on your collection. Six CAK's is awesome! I don't have a CAK or an AK yet...

My friend (who can break anything) asked me for a HI Blade.. He's been helping me A LOT build my house so I'm going to have to pick one out for him.

Those 'used' blades that popped up would've been perfect, but I'm keeping my eyes peeled for an AK/WWII/Tamang/ASTK/M43/KLVUK or something for him...

FYI...I'm the guy that lucked out on all 4 used blades! That was an amazing deal!

That's a good list, but if your friend "can break anything" I would omit the Tamang and KLVUK. Those are both excellent blades that will not break under normal use, but they're not as heavy duty as the others. The top of the line unbreakable blade is the AK (or CAK, which differs from the AK only in handle type). Others in the heavy duty category would be the Bonecutter and GRS, but they come up as DOTDs less often.

The M43 and WWII are close seconds. It's hard to think of what someone would have to do to break them. The ASTK is also quite robust, but not available very often.

It would take some substantial abuse to break a Tamang or a KLVUK, both are favorites. But the statement is true.

If you want bomb proof, the CAK is the ticket, although I have one on the bench with a blown handle. Very rare and no damage at all to the knife itself.

I do like the antler knives. Im with Bawanna tho on the smaller knives they are especially cool. I do say that Tarwar really kicks it tho!
Im making a skinner knife now with an old piece of antler. It was really old and dried out but once I sanded it down and sewed up the cracks:D:p it turned out pretty dang nice.

Still got lots to do on the rock but its gettin there. Wish I had a Kumar Karda without a handle. That would be perfect for this piece of antler.

I just got in my AK Ang Khola with antler from Yangdu! It absolutely rocks! I haven't had a chance to take a picture but I will! It's a slate color gray. Without measuring, I'm guessing 15-16"

I do have a question about a Kami mark? Who has a full circle with 8 lines drawn out from it? And a nazi broken cross?
Thank you for the help!

It's worth mentioning that Thamar's symbol predates the nazis by about 12,000 years. They appropriated the symbol, but it means something quite different in India, Nepal and many other places with ancient cultures, languages and religions. Here's some info from a wikipedia article:

The word ‘swastika’ is a Sanskrit word (‘svasktika’) meaning ‘It is’, ‘Well Being’, ‘Good Existence, and ‘Good Luck’. However, it is also known by different names in different countries - like ‘Wan’ in China, ‘Manji’ in Japan, ‘Fylfot’ in England, ‘Hakenkreuz’ in Germany and ‘Tetraskelion’ or ‘Tetragammadion’ in Greece....

The earliest swastika ever found was uncovered in Mezine, Ukraine, carved on an ivory figurine, which dates an incredible 12,000 years, and one of the earliest cultures that are known to have used the Swastika was a Neolithic culture in Southern Europe, in the area that is now Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, known as the Vinca Culture, which dates back around 8,000 years.
Other symbols have been used in very different ways. The Christian cross, for example, is often a symbol of peace, but it was also emblazoned on the shields of the Teutonic Knights and other militaristic orders.
