Handle Problems With My HI Bolo

There won't be any blade only sales on any regular basis. This was asked of Bill a long time ago and answered in the negative, and I asked Yangdu this AM and recieved the same answer. The people in Nepal are poor, and all the folks we employ indirectly by our patronage is a good thing.

let me re-phrase, so as to be more precisely clear.

the meaning i take from "blade only" is that the kamis make and ship just blade steel only. i understand that there are other people involved along the whole process for the whole knife, scabbard, handle. that's fine, normal and expected.

my suggestion, which i thought was somewhat clear... in the case of returns due to various failures, blade snaps/cracks/chips/bend, and especially heartbreaking - when the handle cracks such to be as useless, or the scabbard explodes, or other things but leaves the blade itself intact. let's call it a **super-blem**; much more than 5 minutes rust or 50 cents epoxy. more like a few days of work even for someone with time and a shop. absolutely no guaranties, returns, or allowances. super-sale. otherwise, what happens to them?

for that matter, due to various issues and what not, i'm guessing that sometimes knives break really badly sometimes, but there's a scabbard needing a home, or various kardas/chakmas, or frogs, or ... stuff that might otherwise never see the light of day. think of it as a garage sale.

but hey, it was just a thought to find homes for that which might be otherwise considered unsellable.

I ordered a couple of blade only "As Forged Blades" from Bill back before the very first khonvention at Reno and Bill had them there for me to pick up.
One was an "As Forged Hanuman Blade" and the other was an "As Forged Chainpuri Blade." Most of the folks here have seen them except for maybe some of the newbies.
Since there was little interest generated for them Bill said there would be no more.:(
As everyone can see only the "As Forged Chainpuri Blade" was finished. One of these days I'm planning on doing the Hanuman blade with the same copper furniture but with Osage Orange handles.  :D
What is really cool is that the artistic license I took with the Chainpuri blade only resulted in a "Balance" khukuri.

There are likely several problems that could be handled by an HI Bolo. ;) Of course, doing that could cause several new problems to come up.

I'll never tire of looking at those blades Yvsa. I can't imagine how awesome the top one will look when you're done with it.

A Canadian comedy troupe called The Arrogant Worms has a song called Malcolm solves his problems with a chainsaw.
