Hanson EDC for Blade -NEW CLIP

Very sexy knife! ;) . I love the blue liners along with the clip, together they make a good color contrast with the rest of the knife.

What is most important here, is Jon will be carrying and using this one. It just doesn't get much better than that in my book! :D

Thanks for all the helpful comments and good words, guys!

This is a beautiful knife as it is.
My first thoughts, where: why does it have a clip? Then, when I read the text and took a second look, I began to understand.
This knife is a complex piece of art and it takes time to see and fully understanding it.
Congrats to the owner and kudos to the maker!

As for the clip, I vote for the blue Ti clip, as it is an EDC - it can be refurbished if need be.
A damascus clip is not necessary imho and might overburden the picture, although it could help to hide it.

I love the knife. I really like the clip and liners personally and sounds like you do as well. I would venture a guess that the knife looks even better in person, with no disrespect to the pictures done by the best in the business, because I doubt the contrast is quite as stark up close and personal. Congratulations!

That's superb. I really like that one. It's not really my style of knife, and yet I'd still be happy to own and carry that piece. Very striking, especially with the blue. I wouldn't change a thing. I think Don really hit this one out of the park.

Here is a little thread necromancy for ya.

As discussed...

And this is the old clip on top to show the difference.

I'd say after seeing both that I disliked the original clip as well.. This new one just pulls the whole thing together.

Here's the blade starting to show some darkening from stains. (Ignore the green tone thats from my cell phone)

Its hard to tell in photos but the blade is also starting to darken in the areas where the pattern is pressed in. It will add some contrast to the banded ladder effect.

that's the ticket Jon!
Great work Don, I think it's perfect :)

Much better!!! I'm not a fan of pocket clips on Don's knives mainly because it masks some of the always beautiful handle material. I also prefer the feel and flow without the addition of steel to the natural material on the handle.

Having said that, I haven't turned any of my Hanson's into users. If carried or transported it is in a Bill's case or one of Paul's sheaths/pouches. They remain "garage queens". I've used other of my customs but have not been able to bring myself to activating any of my DHIII's.

That's why I find this thread intriguing. Jon, please keep us updated as to your experience with this knife over time.

Yes it does look much better!

But I do not like making clips, or putting them on my knives! :grumpy: :D

Hi Rob!
