First of all, huge thanks to Anton for getting this into my hands. I decided to make this DH3 Slip Joint my new EDC. I know I am crazy, but this is something I have wanted to do for a long time.

Here is the sting ray home it will get for pocket carry..

And since I had nothing important to use it on yet I needed to have fun. The longer I wait to dirty it up, the harder it will be.

An upgraded version of a classic, Jon (and Don!!).

I also agree with you about carrying it around in your pocket.
Good choice!

Wait till Suzanne V. sees it....

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

:eek:You're going to USE it???

Nice score! Beautiful knife!

Kind regards,

Jos

Thanks T.A., David and Jos for the comments.

Yup. I will carry it and use it when I can. I chose this one because normally I am more attracted to the colorful ivory. With this, I will be just a bit less afraid to use it. The handle is nice and grippy mammoth ivory which is nice in the hand.

By the way my color is a little off in the first photo so the second photo with the pouch shows it more accurately.

I figured it didn't need a pro photo since I will get it dirty anyway.

I think that that is a fine choice for a carry knife, and I am sure that it will prove as useful as it is beautiful. These knives are functional art--well, let them function.

And maybe I am a girlyman, but I also think that the knifepurse is a good idea. I carry around too much crap to be able to devote an entire pocket to a knife, even one as fine as that one.

That's a seriously upscale EDC - nice to see damascus and ivory put to work.

Roger

That is a nice EDC no doubt. Nice rayskin case for it too!

There was another thread asking about damascus performance vs. other steels. Let us know how it performs after carrying it for a while.

Just a great score, Jonathan! It is super to hear you'll carry this one. That stag-like ivory begs to be held. Don has left the file work off the liners on his upscale slipjoints, which is even better for pocket carry IMHO. Of course, there's the girly purse... ;)

Glad to see!

That´s gotta be one of my all time favorites. Look at the texture of that ivory!

This one came closer than any to landing in my pocket,
but Anton grabbed it too quick at the Blade show.

Of all the mammoth I've used, this is the most unusual
with it's consistent deep texture. Cool stuff!

Thanks, Man!

Very satisfying to be able to do that....I remember my first custom EDC, was a Kit Carson pre-M4 medium liner lock....Kit refinished it last year, and it still looks superb!

This is one of, if not THE favorite big slipjoints that Don has made. Enjoy it Jon, you certainly deserve it!

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I remember standing on line with Don before the doors opened at Blade, looking at that knife and nearly pulling the trigger.

Congrats, Jonathan, on a fantastic knife!

That is,gorgeous.I can't say I've ever seen Mammoth bark Ivory quite like that, ever. Is that what that is ? From a tusk ? It almost looks like stag.Really gorgeous knife.Enjoy carrying it & Thanks for showing it
