Hanson Slip Joint for Carry

it will be all the more meaningful to future generations of Brands that you carried that since the tender age of 26.
Just don't lose it!

That is one beautiful knife. I was with Blues and Don and almost snagged it too. In all honesty, I would have had it not been for the new HV/AC system and a few orders being delivered. Congrats on snagging that stunner.

Nice EDC.What is the closed length? Damascus has a sort of serrated edge to it. cuts like you read about.

Navihawk, the closed length is a hair over 4 inches.

VCM3, yeah its outer mammoth bark ivory from an old tusk. I am stupid and actually thought it was stag for a few months after I saw it at the Blade show. I didn't get a good enough look at the time, but in person the cracks are much finer then you'd usually see on stag.

I learned today that apples turn carbon blades brown- FAST! Even when you think you wiped your blade down after. I wont stress over it, this knife needs to be used.

:)

here's my apple peeling knife:);

Jonathan, like I said,I've never seem bark mammoth like that I'm no expert but I have looked at a lot & that is quite unique.Probably the most beautiful I've seen, too. Hats off to you for using it & getting the full satisfaction of owning it,IMO

Jonathan, I can't tell you how much I like this one, and you're using it.
Love the ivory and as was mentioned before, you deserve it.
Thanks for sharing this.

Don has had a fair bit of mammoth ivory like that. I remember awhile back he some red mammoth ivory with that kind of crackle. It was some of the most beautiful ivory I have ever seen. Don is very good at picking out the best stuff.

That's a stunner! You'll smile every time you use that one. I sure would!

Keith,I may have been looking at his knives with it(photographs),like that, for a while, possibly, never realizing it was bark mammoth & thinking it was stag :o

You can only do so much drooling, before you become de-sensitized

hey VCM3, my eyes glaze over, too. The mind is a terrible thing to taste:cool:

You look at these pictures for long enough, then you just go inside and that imagination takes right on over. It makes knives for you- virtual ones!:D

You know, it's always just a knife. But the brain, now there's an interesting tool!

I used to buy a lot of mammoth in the rough, bark and mud still on.
Was able to save the bark with the best texture and use it like stag,
not taking any off the top. I still have a good bit, but my source for this
material dried up.

Jon, it makes me feel good, seeing you use this one!

Thanks for all the good words, folks!

The Mammoth King strikes again. That's the kind of texture that puts my salivary glands into overdrive. Beautiful knife, congrats. Nice to see someone else using their pricey customs. The blade will stain, just be sure to wipe it off and keep it clean after use. If you thought the apple was bad try an onion... :D

PS Nice looking cat, looks like he's a knife knut too...
