I've had great birthdays, fine birthdays, disappointing birthdays, and a (now-large!) number of them neither here nor there.
But, no matter what, I love my birthday-- just the fact of it, the part where, in contradistinction to other holidays or events, it's My Day.
I've had babies near my birthday; my oldest baby was born 26 years ago today, and my youngest will turn 18 three days after my birthday this year. In other words, I was very close to having to Share My Day for the rest of our respective lives.

Well-meaning friends, back in those days:
"Wouldn't it be wonderful if the baby was born on your birthday?!"
Me:
~~~~~~~
I digress.
In early December, GEC and KSF brought forth #25 Little Jacks in Blue Camel Bone.
Alert readers just might have noticed that I happen to love GEC's #25s, and also have a certain predilection for blue.
Thus, this knife particular was right up my alley...
... and has seldom left my pocket since it arrived.
In fact, this iteration of this pattern is so much "me," in what it both is and represents of my knife affections, I wanted to share it here.
So when I bought mine, I actually bought two.
One for me (the Used One), one for (one of) you.
So, let's play! Tell me about a memorable birthday, a happy thing, say something funny, post a picture, or just chime in to let me know you'd enjoy having this knife.
I'll let this run 1-1.5 weeks, with the goal of having this knife with its new owner in time for my birthday, February 9th.
I hate (hate) having to pick just one winner, so will determine the recipient in whatever randomly fair method I come up with when the time comes.
For (one of) you:
Happy Birthday!
~ P.
EDITED TO ADD: Anyone who wants a chance at this knife (as indicated in the thread) will be entered for the giveaway, one time total. When the time comes, I'll randomize and select the winner by username, not thread post #.
The point being: feel free to respond to one another (and the great anecdotes, and funny pictures, etc.) in this thread if you'd like to, without fear (or hope!) of influencing your or another's chance at the knife.
