I'm in, and on November 8th, 1960, I was 12 years old AND, John F. Kennedy was elected President on that day.
 
On December 23rd, 1899, 28 year old Bertha Schiffer Baer was having labor pains and attended by her husband the 38 year old vinegar merchant, Max Baer. Early the next morning, Decenber 24th, 1899, Henry Bodenheim Baer was born, eventually to known to the world as "Uncle Henry".

Not an entry, but happy birthday!
Just wanted to say that I share Albert Einstein's birthday March 14th. For some reason everybody would bring pie on my birthday in my elementary math classes.:confused: :D 3.14

I too wish to share in an early happy birthday wish sir, with a non-entry piece of trivia....one which every Englishman should be proud of....
Aug 26th, 1346 – Hundred Years' War: the military supremacy of the English longbow over the French combination of crossbow and armoured knights is established at the Battle of Crécy.

We share the same birth date! On Aug. 26, 1920, the 19th amendment to the US Constitution was certified as law; it granted women the right to vote. I believe since 1971, Aug. 26 has been designated Women's Equality Day in the US.

Thanks for the GAW and Happy Birthday!!! I am in. So scrolling through the history I wanted to find something interesting, many events were dark and depressing and morbid. So I got one that is more dark and erie than anything. In 1933 the Gestapo (German secret Police) was born on my Birthday.

November 8, 1895 - Wilhelm Roentgen while experimenting with electricity discovered the scientific principle involved and took the first X-ray pictures.

November 8, 1973 - Daniel Dorn was born. Not sure what the historical significance is, but maybe one day someone will celebrate it. :D
